I'm such a fan of Smith & Lentz and am glad to have them in the neighborhood. If you're a fan of easy drinking Pilsners or refreshing IPAs, they have some of the best in the city. I'd love it if Smith & Lentz would offer highchairs though. Since the tornado, they have morphed into a restaurant offering some of the best pizza in town in addition to several small plates. As someone who lives nearby, I enjoy visiting for dinner. While the brewery is always full of young families with little ones, there surprisingly isn't a single highchair in the establishment. I'd come more often if I didn't have to balance a toddler on my knee while trying to eat dinner and enjoy a beer. It's a small investment that would go a long way to making the space more inviting to parents.
We had half-pints of four different beers, all were good but the Pizza Palace Lager was out favorite. To eat we had the Mushroom Pie with added pepperoni. Whatever pizza you have, you simply must take it to the Prom - adding garlic butter, oregano, and chili flakes. It was served with a lemon wedge, which we didn't use at first, but when we did, the bright pop of acid was perfect with the garlicky, buttery, cheesy mushroomyness!
Great great great! We loved everything. Two things I really enjoy in life: beer and pizza. They nailed it with the pizza and the beer was delicious. Even though it's pizza and there are many options in town, they take it seriously. Their beer also showcases talent; they don't have to cover-up everything with fruit, marshmallows and coconuts just to make it taste good. Oh, and service was perfect. Highly recommend.
Pizza is fantastic. Pepperoni is the best, but all are creative and delicious. Patio is great. However, inside the music is way too loud to enjoy a conversation at the table, and they refuse to lower the volume. This isn't a nightclub, friends go to hang out together, eat pizza, drink beer. I echo statements of others--they don't let you taste the beer, and you're charged for a glass you don't like. It happened to me.
My wife and I recently moved to East Nashville and decided to give Smith & Lentz a try last night. We could not have been more impressed. Not only was the beer really good and wood fired pizza amazing too but the staff was the star of the show. They went out of their way to welcome us to the neighborhood, gave us a free beer and were just incredibly nice. Definitely coming back again soon!
We have tried ALL of the pizza spots in Nashville and this one takes the cake for us. It's so delicious.. the pepperoni pie is hands down our favorite but they're all worth a try. You won't be disappointed. They also have great appetizers. We typically order the whipped feta!
Didn't want to waste any more money at this establishment. If they won't let you sample a beer to see if you like it before ordering. Why should I take a chance on their food. Would have poured out my selected beer but already spent hard earned money......
No samples, snobby workers, one in particular short guy with tattoos so rude. Out of all breweries in Nashville has to be the worst, lived here for 10 years won’t be back. Tried to kick us out for saving a seat for a friend at the bar because he was parking. Place is terrible. Little man should be fired.
Brewery food has come a long way, and Smith & Lentz is leading the way in this effort. Hands down some of the best pizza in not only East but all of Nashville, and the beer is fantastic.
Easily one of the best pizza and beer combos in Nashville. The beer selection is amazing. Lots of awesome lagers and some absolutely fantastic IPAs. The Big Night Italian Pillsner is one of the best beers I have ever had. The German Pillsner is also wonderful. The pizza is some of the best in town. The pizza is all wood fired and the crust is absolutely delicious. They rotate the toppings depending on the season but they always have an incredible Pepperoni Pizza with some hot honey. The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable, and friendly. I love the atmosphere. The patio is especially awesome on a nice day. This is a must visit in East Nashville!
