The baked goods are incredible. Soft and moist brownies, muffins, and cookies. Great flavor. Coffee is always fresh tasting. I love this place!
Lots of yummy stuff. Great coffee. The egg cheese bacon biscuit was very tasty but not hot enough temp wise for my personal liking. Nice service. The highlght this morning was watching a young man propose to his girlfriend this morning and upon her yes her family popped out from the back room. So sweet and it seems the staff helped that along.
I leave this review in the sincere hope that it will help Slow Hand improve - I hope the owners see this. The pastries and coffee here are amazing. Just delicious. One of my top two in Nashville.I have two gripes though and they are enough that I rarely ever go.1) They sell out of everything good by like 9:15am. I'm totally on board with not making too much food and just throwing things out at the end of the day. But you sell out before I feel like being out of bed on a sunday. Just make more... and sell out at 11... Why do I need to compete with the whole neighborhood to buy one of the 6 danishes you have that morning.2) I guess it's in the name but boy are the hands SLOW. There's like 3 tables so it's not a hanging out spot where it would be fine if things were slower. You just stand in line in super intense AC and it takes 15 minutes to get a muffin if there are 4 people ahead of you and there's so few of each item that by the time you get served, the thing you wanted is sold outHire another person and make double of each of your popular items and this would be an immediate 5 stars.
I am from Michigan so going on vacation I like to try different independently owned coffee/bake shops. My husband, cousin and I loved their bourbon vanilla latte. Delish! Also, their egg and cheese biscuit (and bacon) sandwiches were amazing. Very quaint and relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Quiet and quaint cafe, great for catching up with friends or family. The atmosphere is cozy and welcomes you for extended periods of time.Things you should know:I. PARKINGThere's a private parking lot in front of the building and also behind ~ easy & FREE.II. SERVICEAccomodatingIII. QUALITYThe Americano I ordered was very dense and concentrated ~ I was very happy it wasn't watered down. Definitely recommend the pecan shortbread cookie, we all shared one and couldn't get enough..!IV. CAPACITYAvailable seating for a Friday late-morning.
The Vegan Sweet Potato Muffin is what I come back for and their other pastries are very good. The name explains some of the experience of this shop as it usually takes me 10-15 minutes to get my drink and food, even if the line is short, so I wouldn’t recommend popping in if you’re in a hurry. However, the people are sweet and the vibe is chill, and did I mention the vegan sweet potato muffin? I’m not even vegan and I daydream of this muffin.
Slow Hand is amazing! Let me tell you about the staff - so friendly and patient even early in the morning while frothing milk for the sixth latte in a row, they are true diamonds. The coffee drinks are so, SO good, and the brown sugar latte has a special place in my heart. This week, my lovely spouse surprised me with a cheesecake brownie from SHC and it was perfectly sweet, rich, and (I know many people despise this word, but) moist, a wonderful way to end our dinner after a long work day.
Ok, this review is not because I dislike the place, but because it needs to get its act together. I used to LOVE it there. Great scones, muffins, brownies, teas and counter culture coffee. Staff is nice. But...lately the place has gone down the tubes, and I think it needs an owner who actually cares about the business. The espresso machine has been down more often than it works lately, they are always running out of alternative milks, the pastries have been inconsistent (the chocolate chip cookies were the worst I've ever had recently), the hot drinks are served too cold or too weak lately, the homemade chai is ok at best (and often BAD), no one knows how to make a proper flat white and the tables are all wobbly. I really dislike supporting Starbucks, but at least they are consistently average -- at Slowhands you either have a great experience or a terrible one. Unfortunate, because for years this was the best coffee shop in East Nashville.
My favorite local place to get a coffee and baked good. I don’t understand how people wait in line at the Starbucks drive-thru across the street when this is here. Unbelievably tasty, always.
Pastries/baked goods here are out of this world. Absolutely love this spot for sweets and that kind of thing. Don’t know how it has 4.3 stars. Should be more like 4.7
