Best hot chicken in Nashville.
This place is closed. Don’t bother trying to find it esp with downtown Nashville traffic. Wasted my time because this listing is out of date. Yelp here I come!
Love their food, it has the best flavor!
My daughter lives in Nashville and when I'm in town I always have hot chicken. She had heard rave reviews of Pepperfire so we decided to give it a try. We both ordered the mild, and it is still very hot. But oh my, is it ever fabulous. I may get the light mild next time. Let's face it, the place is named Pepperfire for a reason, it's hot! You can order with no heat at all which is a big plus if you're bringing kids. I had the breast quarter with fried okra (the best!) and the collard greens. The chicken piece was huge and perfectly cooked (not at all dry), the fried okra was perfect, and the collards were the best I've ever had, including my own. Collards out are usually tasteless but not these! Order them for a pleasant surprise. Lot's of beers available. We had soda and the machine is excellent if you're a soda drinker. I was able to get diet ginger ale. That was a first. If you order the half chicken with 2 sides it will easily feed 2 people. Prices are very good for the serving size. Can't wait to get back to Nashville and go to Pepperfire! We are done with the other popular place for hot chicken because this is by far the best.
Went recently with a friend and have to say it's just not as good as it used to be. Add to that, the mild that I got practically took my face off. Way too hot to be mild (bear in mind I've ordered it that way many times in the past). Besides the heat, the flavor and quality of chicken wasn't on par with past experiences. We live one mile from there but will drive all the way down to Prince's when we want hot chicken.
Was empty when we went. Parking was an adventure as all the spots were taken. Chicken was cooked perfect. Got the fried cheese and chicken combo. I’m a spice wimp so Mild was more than enough for me. Chicken was cooked perfectly and was perfectly fried. Fries were seasoned well, and the Mac and cheese with green pepper was divine.
Great food and cute local joint. First time in Nashville and had it recommended. Definitely worth the stop. Fried chicken off the chain.
We are always looking for a different restaurant in Nashville, and this was our most recent find. We both ordered the Mild tenders meal, which was hot enough for us. The baked beans and fried okra were good, but the chicken is just ok. It seems as if they are relying a little too much on cumin for flavor.
Some of best chicken I’ve eaten! Their XX hot chicken is soooo good!!! And trust me, its hot! plus the deep fried grilled cheese is genius and so delicious! will definitely go there again!
