My family and I have been wanting to try this place for years hoping it would fill the void left in our hearts after not having tea cakes during the holidays anymore. We decided to give this a chance for Valentine’s Day and were really disappointed. This is NOT the original recipe the lady in Nashville used before closing in 2013. Her original recipe used a cookie-like batter to make the tea cakes (they were hard like a cookie) and this recipe uses cake batter. I am really disappointed because it tasted awful and it was mushy. I guess our void will continue on until (hopefully) one of the family members re-opens her shop and start making them again.
Couldn’t find it as per google map instructions
So...I visited Nashville over the Christmas holiday, and stayed in a hotel that had samples of Mountain Jim's tea cakes in the room. They were so good, we tracked down Mountain Jim and he offered to deliver a dozen to our hotel, since they don't have a brick and mortar. These are definitely on my list of gifts and special treats.
