I’ve heard of this place and it’s supposed to be kind of legendary around town. I will say this. The inside pictures and decorations has feels like it had its moment and it was great. I was really nervous about my food since it has the name. However they lived up I got big tenders fully dipped in sauce with plenty of extra. The fries were great. The only issue I have is probably how expensive it was for what it is. That would be my only take away.
Only a few years ago, my friends and I could gather at McDougals and spend 9 bucks to get chicken tenders, fries, a drink, and free ice cream! The world changes, stuff gets more expensive and I get that but McDougals has raised prices a bunch amount of times. Enough to where they have priced themselves out of being judged like the chicken shack they have always been. They’re noticeably more expensive than comparable hot chicken places like Hattie B’s, Princes, and Pepperfire. More expensive than local burger places like Hugh Baby’s and Burger Joint. They’re just flat out pricey nowadays. $15+ for 3 tenders, some fries, and a drink just feels too much to me.Now, with all that said, I truly enjoy their chicken. It’s good. The sauces are really unique and enjoyable. Their French fries are French fries which means you are likely to enjoy them.McDougal’s, I’ll do my best to support you once in a while but these price hikes means it’s becoming less and less. It’s hard for me to ask friends to meet up there, take family there for a meal, or suggest it to tourists asking for a rec.If you don’t really care about the cost, it’s really nice chicken tenders so enjoy it!
We remember when the small basket was $9.99 and came with a drink. There was free ice cream! The chicken is still great but we can’t justify the price anymore. We will still try to support every so often, but not as much as in the past years.
I thought maybe I thought it was so good bc I was drunk last and really hungry so I decided to try it again today and mannnnnnnn this is what we like to call in Louisiana Crack Chicken. Everything is soooo good and the service is great. I will definitely be going again before I get back on the road home.
Great friendly and helpful people. Sauces are our fav. Fry lovers were happy but we all didnt like the coleslaw- too sweet n thick. Chicken was juicy & we liked the coating. If you get wings, they are large but buy them as a 'basket'. Its cheaper.
The food was amazing and great customer service!!! The wait time wasn't bad because made to order fresh!!!
My favorite place to eat In Nashville by far. Best Chicken and fries you will find anywhere! Super friendly staff and a cool place to eat/hang out. I’d eat here everyday if I could not gonna lie
I came into eat around 8:40, tried ordering wings. I was told they couldn’t cook them because it took to long. As well as the website says they close at 10, not 9! I asked for 6 wings only , but i guess that was asking to much! I eat here 2-3 week , however pretty sure I’m gonna stop that and remove them from a event i want catered.
Ordered from here a few times. Asked for sauce on the side and they put it on all three times. Came soggy. Basically the same as microwave tenders. Called and they didn’t do anything. Poor food and poor service.
This is the place to be. I was ordering my food. I turned around and the line for chicken ? was out the door. I got the melody basket with 3 wings and 2 chicken tenders. The sauces we homemade and delicious. The chicken was crispy and crunchy. The chicken was well seasoned. The beers were ice ice ice cold. I grabbed the hunkka punch (adult beverage ) the punch was ok. The cashier/server was super helpful and nice.
