I took a co-worker to this restaurant for lunch - first time for both of us. The service was horrible. We waited a long time to be waited on, and there were hardly any other customers in the restaurant. I ordered the carne asada. It was the toughest piece of meat - definitely like shoe leather (about the size of a large flat insole, too). It did have good flavor, and we were pressed for time, so I didn't send it back - but it was almost impossible to chew. My co-worder ordered chicken taquitos. They looked like the little rolled up cheapy ones you can buy at the grocery store (24 to a box). We asked repeatedly for sugar for our iced tea, and never got any. We even had to flag someone down for our check. This "ain't" happening again for me!
It's Mexican but not really Mexican. It has a wide variety of Central/South American choices, you can sit inside or out depending on the weather, and you have all the extras of being located at Mariachi Plaza. We''ve been many times and will keep goiing back.
Thank you for your nice review and we look forward to seeing you again very soon.
Just the wife and I. Had a great lunch. I had the Cuban sandwiches and they were really good. Second only to back to Cuba. Wife had the tequila lime chicken wings and they were good. We both had the Mojo rice. Very good. Second best margaritas to Bar Taco Great staff wonderful atmosphere. Worth the trip. We will be patrons.
Had the pleasure this afternoon of visiting this coffee shoppe located in the Plaza Mariachi on Nolensville Pike. The owners are a nice young couple who were super friendly and excited to share their love and knowledge for their craft.
This is not authentic food at all! The rice is boxed - not Spanish style rice. The food is not flavorful at all. The daiquiri was terrible. The guy serving was sweet though. But I would not recommend the food at all.
Madera's Cuban sandwiches are the best we've had since moving to Tennessee from South Florida (SoFla is the best place for these wonderful sandwiches other than actually going to Cuba) and it was a great find in Nashville. Our lunches were great, service was terrific and the restaurant is very welcoming. Definitely worth a try. My wife and I plan to return often, and will try some of their other Hispanic food specialties.
