If you like hot (spicy)chicken, this is a must go! The reputation holds up. It was so good! For a family of 4, you will spend a few bucks, but we'll worth every penny! I would say it was the best hot chicken sandwich I've ever had. My son got the chicken wings and man, they were a meal. I was surprised at how big the wings were. Everything was cooked perfectly! Staff was friendly
Loved it! Only wish I'd have ordered less chicken strips for the kid as they were huge and we were traveling through with nowhere to keep leftovers :)
All we heard about was you haven't visited Nashville unless you eat some Hot Chicken. Well Hattie B's was supposed to be one of the the top rated places to try some and the lines and wait time would indicate this to be true. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to its billing. Yes the chicken was hot (seasoning), but lacked the moist tenderness I expect in a fried chicken breast. Mac & Cheese and cole slaw sides were small servings (1/2-1/3 cup) and just ok.
The chicken, bacon & cheddar grits, & potato salad were so good!! We waited in line for about 35 minutes, but it was worth it! I got the "southern" (no spice), but others got the "mild" & "medium" & the spice will hit you after a couple of bites.
Line was to the sidewalk but 30 min we had ordered and sat at window watching Nashville walk by. Food was as expected ????
My husband dropped me and our son off and he went and found parking. Ended up with street parking a couple blocks away. We stood outside in the heat for about 45 minutes to get in. The employees are working their butts off to get you your delicious chicken quick! Our cashier was super nice! I will say they will not allow you to get a table until you have placed your order and you have a table number. Tables are first come first serve. The chicken was delicious!!!
We had to try Hattie B’s Hot Chicken after so many locals told us it was the best…… and it was. The chicken is fried to crispy, juicy perfection, and it can be as HOT, or not, as you choose. Being from the south, I grew up on greens, grits, black eyed peas, mac and cheese, potato salad, peach cobbler…. and the menu offered them all-just like Mama used to make! The staff was so friendly and efficient, this was our favorite Nashville restaurant. Casual, no frills, but oh, so GOOD! We went when they were opening for lunch and a line was already forming outside. We heard dinner line is even longer, but would still be worth the wait. Staff is busy and working as fast and hard as they can. Be patient, be friendly, they deserve the kindness and will provide you with a memorable, southern/Nashville meal.
There is a line to get in and for good reason! The food is great! Great chicken with great side dishes! Yummy dessert too! We had the peach Cobbler....YUM! Lots of beverages to choose from too!
Oh baby does this place bring it with the heat! I ordered the Shut the Cluck Up tenders. I'm told my face turned red. My ears burned. My eyes watered. It was everything I wanted. The amounts of ranch dressing I needed to get through my meal is confidential. Before I left Nashville, I was looking online to see how to get these delivered to me in Virginia. I ordered mine to go, prancing past the line to pick them up and devour them in the privacy of my airbnb. I frankly would not want the world to see me eating these bad boys as it was not a pretty sight. The folks I ate with had their at the Hot level and also enjoyed. But.. seriously.. if you like heat get the STCU and clear your plans for the next day.
Cooked to your heat level, moist chicken and crispy fries. Certainly worth the wait and you have the option for pickup.
