Hattie B's is the best place for Nashville Hot Chicken. The freshness of the food, the flavor, the cleanliness of the restaurant and promptness of the staff are all reasons to visit this restaurant again and again. I like the fact that you can choose to simply have Southern chicken without seasoning or choose your heat level. The greens were true Southern greens with good flavor, the chicken and fries were hot and fresh, the coleslaw creamy with good flavor, and the lemonade delicious. The only downside is this location is in the heart of downtown Nashville with a small interior restaurant space. So either go early and get in line before they open, or be prepared to wait in long lines. But the wait is definitely worth it for the price, the flavor, and the portion sizes.
Delicious and yummy ?. Definitely recommend!!
always excellent! great staff!
This was quite possibly the thickest piece of chicken on a chicken sandwich that I’ve ever had. You fill up quick! But it also was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had. If you like it hot, this is the place to stop. I recommend keeping the pickles and slaw on the sandwich to help cool it down. Can’t go wrong with anything here!
Fantastic meal. Quick service once you get through the long line to order. Our cashier was wonderful; she was about as happy as they come. My meal was perfect...I coulda easily gone medium on the heat, but the mild was plenty tasty with just a little kick. Grits and greens on the side is the way to go, folks!
I honestly do not know why there is a line. This chicken was not good at all. I ordered medium wings that lacked flavor. I also got hot chicken tenders they tasted so bland with spots of paprika. The grits were watery and the greens tasted so bland. The banana pudding was sloppy. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Do not buy the hype! The cashier was nice, but that was the only positive point of the experience.
Visited Nashville for the weekend and had to get some famous hot chicken. We stayed a few blocks from this place so it was an easy walk. The line was about 45 minutes but the cool thing was they come by and sell beer/cider while you wait. I opted for level 4 on the hotness scale and it was Hella hot, but still enjoyable. The fries were fresh and crispy. The pimento Mac and cheese helped cool the burn and had a good smooth non overpowering flavor. The big winners were the banana pudding and peach cobbler. The staff was super friendly and the ordering/table system was efficient.
They say you have to get you some HOT chicken while in Nashville and let me tell you HATTIE B’s is where it’s at! Let me start off by saying this…DO NOT let the loooonnnnggg line discourage you from trying this heaven on earth HOT chicken. We had several people leave due to seeing the long line, however, the employees get you in and out in a timely manner. Even though it’s busy this establishment is courteous, full of energy and makes sure you are happy with your experience, and they did just that!We had the HOT chicken with fries as well as the HOT chicken (grilled) with potato salad, and baaabbbyyy that potato salad was banging! I am limited to what I could eat, however, I made sure I broke it to try it out and glad I did, you will not be disappointed!!!
We went at 11:30am and beat the big crowds for lunch. Waited maybe 10 mins to order. Food came fast and it was FANTASTIC !!! I ordered the “Damn Hot” chicken - basically habanero heat. Best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Moist as heck. This is a must eat in Nashville.
Coming to Nashville and not trying out the famous Nashville hot chicken would be so unfair, so I would highly recommend to try out this place once. You can find Hattie B’s Hot chicken all over Nashville but the one on Broadway stays quiet packed up all day. Their chicken is well seasoned and juicy. I really liked the taste. It’s just the long line you have to stand in to get the food. Also if you are up for a challenge then try out the “shut the cluck up” spice level, but try it out at your own risk. It’s mad spicy.
