Had an absolutely amazing Hathorne experience! Mark, our waiter was incredibly personable and helpful and gave us great recommendations. The food was incredible, executive chef Chris Gass is inventive and creative and his flavors are bold and incredibly well balanced. His passion is evident with every bite. They took really really good care of us, and we will certainly be back!

Seeking a walk-in lunch, we didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. If you're there to eat, vs roost at the huge comfy bar, the food is "Creative American" with an assertive price tag and polished service in an open, airy space - and it's indeed creative. Browse the menu and you'll understand. We tried a lot of items, and each was a nice surprise. When we thought we knew what it would taste like, it was....more....which is always a good quality in a restaurant. We ordered the Chicken Schnitzel, and the Pork Tenderloin - familiar items with unusual additions - and they were truly delicious, with accessory ingredients expertly worked in to the classic dishes. The schnitzel in particular - a snazzy upgrade on the stalwart simple German dish - was sublime when I expected the usual basic & heavy. Now I have to save up to come back and try some other items....I have my eyes on the poached cod with grilled blueberries.... yes please...

I continue to go back to Hathorne time and time again for the delicious food (all is wonderful but their vegetables are so dang good!) and the great service. This place is such a gem in Nashville. The owner is the best. And, their private room is amazing for special celebrations or business meals.

They were the most ill-mannered and judgmental staff I have ever dealt with. The team judged my family from the moment we walked in.Not only did the front desk try to lie and say we didn’t make a reservation, but the service was horrible. However, that was not the worst part.We ended up leaving early due to our babies bed time.We asked for the check, and over $200 CASH plus tip was put into the cardholder, and we walked out. We, and I am sure most people, usually pay, thank the staff, and leave.IMMEDIATELY the front desk personnel followed us out and ACCUSED us of not paying our bill. They didn’t even LOOK inside the cardholder; they just assumed that we left without paying.I have never been more humiliated in my life. Our family just wanted a nice causal evening out. This establishment ruined our dinner and ruined our evening with a family member that was visiting out of town.I will never revisit this establishment, nor will any of our family or friends.

Hathorn is a great restaurant. We have gone there often over the last couple of years. They are definitely on their “A”game right now. Chris’ great creativity backed by excellent service.

Delicious food!, friendly, professional service. The Atmosphere and aesthetic is inviting. A10 on all measures

Can I give a hundred stars??? We rented a private room for my mom’s 50th birthday and it was wonderful!! We loved our amazing server, Hunter. All the staff members were EXTREMELY accommodating to all our special requests!! They really went above and beyond for us. The food is next level. My uncle said it was the best dining experience of his life and I agree! We will definitely be back.

Chef/owner John Stephenson knows how to run a great restaurant and keep a talented staff. The menu is vegetable forward with GF and vegan options sprinkled in. The current EC, Chris Gass, is creative in his plates and uses his fermentation skills to create depth in his sauces. The atmosphere of a converted fellowship hall is the perfect backdrop for a lovely, relaxed, warm evening. It is one of my favorite restaurants in town!

Driving cross country and picked this restaurant for menu and location. Will return for chef and service (as well as the excellent cocktails). The fried goat cheese and pappardelle were excellent and we'll be back to try the larger plates. Thanks for a great dining experience.

Good and drinks were both spectacular and the service was fantastic, all in a beautiful dining area. It’s a can’t miss dining experience in Nashville. Highly recommend
