Least expensive restaurant this week. Although only 1.8 miles from the hotel, the river plays havoc with traveling making it 5 miles away. YOU NEED A CAR!! $100+ for taxis. Hate negative reviews but...... very dark, no AC. About a 10 min wait. Sangria was good. What was going on with the rice and salsa? No flavor. Couldn't tell if pork was deep fried, but very greasy. Was so hot began getting sick. Surprisingly crowded. Definitely kid friendly
Strong drinks, great queso and food! Chill vibe and great outdoor area. Would prefer to be served instead of having to counter order though outside.
The outdoor patio has changed. I would recommend eating inside. The food is amazing. But, on the patio it's not full service. So, you have to find your own tables. Order food and drinks at the bar and take it to your table. Also, you get your own chips and salas and water. We weren't told that when we arrived. We were pointed to the patio and just stood around for a while until we noticed that people were sitting and serving themselves. So we hovered over a table to wait for them to finish and kind of just followed what other people were doing. I was way too hungry to have to do that. If I would of known, I would of just sat inside.
Is this the best Mexican restaurant in Nashville? I mean, probably. Let's be honest for a second, all Mexican food is a different combo of cheese, meat & vegetables. I'm looking at the price to taste ratio. Are the prices here fair? Yes. Is the food good? Yes. If I'm putting everything out on the table (see what I did there?), the service isn't the best. I know, I know. Its a restaurant, you say. But you know what. Thats okay BECAUSE the margaritas are fantastic. $4 for a margarita? In this economy? SIGN. ME. UP. And I am signed up, regularly, at the bar (where the service is better).Enjoy.
We came here because we had heard great things about the food. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to try it (and I doubt that I ever will). We arrived at 7 and seated ourselves outside. The lively bar scene and live music made for an energizing vibe. We ordered margaritas, and they were perfect. This is where things started to go awry. We ordered food and took our seats. We waited for over an hour. Twice we went back to the bar to check on our order, and the bartender kept telling us the food was on the way. After about an hour and fifteen minutes, we checked a third time, and the bartender told us there had been a screw-up and they were working to correct it. We ended up leaving after an hour and half without ever having received our food. While this alone would not be good, the worst part was the staff. The bartender was INCREDIBLY rude. First of all, every time we went to check on our order, she gave us this attitude like we were inconveniencing her. Second, she never, not once, left her bar to give us an update. Multiple times she delivered food close to us, and she never said one word to us about our order. We had to be the ones continually seeking out updates. Lastly, when we finally had enough and decided to leave, we waited for a few minutes by the exit to finish our drinks. At this point, the food was finally done, and the rude bartender brought us our plates and smugly said, "Your food's ready. Do you want it?" It was as if she was telling us that our irritation was unfounded and was telling us "I told you so." I will never come back here. Disappointedly, Clayton Cohn P.S. The reason I opted for two stars instead of one is due to the good ambiance and drinks. This place suffices as a pregame spot, just avoid the dinner (and the rude bartender).
This will always be a go to spot. You can’t beat the quality of the margaritas and AMAZING food for the price. I always take my friends here when they’re in town and everyone loves it. Couldn’t recommend enough. Their chimichanga is the best in Nashville, hands down.
We were in a business trip and we decided to try this restaurant because their reviews are high. When we got to the place we did love the building and when we walked in it was full of life it was full of people and the ambience was right. The only way to 15 minutes to have a table inside because it was cold outside but we would have loved to try it outside dinner experience. They don't took long to bring our plates and we love the size and taste of the platters..
So, I always drive by here to see a trail of cars thinking that the place is dumped out. Finally gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did. There's ample parking on either side of the building, but it will look packed with easier parking in front.Smaller menu for a similar genre in the same road, but well done. Salsa was not spicy, but it had a good roasted flavor. House margs were small but solid. For the price, they were perfect! All in all, I'd go back.
I love this place and will be back. However, this Friday was a terrible customer experience. Outside patio/bar was staffed with two people to bar tend, take food orders, and bar back. It took 32 minutes waiting in line to order from a line of 6 people. Two people serving food and drink to well over 100 outside is inconceivable. There was a huge line to order all night and it was due to how painstakingly slow it moved. Employees would disappear inside for 5 minutes at a time getting bar supplies (ice, limes etc) while the whole line wondered what was causing the hold up. Food came out quick as always, making me thing it was not a kitchen ordeal but just incredibly poor staffing.
Fantastic large outdoor setup, perfect when the weather is nice. Delicious food.
