This is my favorite bakery in Nashville now. I was missing my sourdough based bakery from my hometown and had been looking for one in Nashville that comes close.I found Dozen at one point but didn’t save it and then couldn’t find it again until a few weeks ago when my friend suggested it.When I realized what it was I got SO excited.I got a blueberry chess pie slice (best chess pie I’ve ever had yet and the crust was perfectly flaky but crunchy), umami sourdough loaf (also incredible), and some very kind service. Can’t wait to go back and have more.
Exceptional Bakery that was recommended to us. It was within walking distance of our airbnb. Nice outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and helpful. Try their Peach pie or any of their Croissants. Get there early before they begin to sell out of items! Wish we had a bakery as good where we live!
You will be sorely disappointed ! They *routinely* run out of the best items (seasonal croissants anyone ?) about 30 minutes after opening. I mean all of the time ! What the heck ??? Waited in line this morning for 30 minutes WHEN THEY JUST OPENED only to be told they were out several items already !!! So, either the 15 people in front of me all ordered MASSIVE amounts of pastries, or Dozen Bakery needs to get their act together. Loyal customer since they opened, but I am officialy done with this nonsense. Won't recommend to any out of town guests in the future either. Did I mention the parking is a crappy unmaintained dirt lot and that it is PAID PARKING ???
Stumbled across Dozen Bakery while recently in Nashville. It's out of the way tucked in a developing area but worth a drive. Excellent backed goods and coffee. We had some breakfast sandwiches and hot drinks. The Machiato was perfect!
A Coffee Shop that makes bread, not a Bakery.I made an hour and a half drive for a loaf of sourdough and I am disappointed. I bought a loaf of Olive Sourdough and a Baguette. After driving home and cutting a few slices I was disappointed by the similarity in taste between the Sourdoughand the Baguette. My suspicion is that the shop is using a hybrid recipe. That is to say the loaf was made with a mix of commercial yeast and wild yeast. I’m not a chef; but, I couldn’t taste any sour flavor in the sourdough. If you own and bake from “Flour Water Salt Yeast” by Ken Forkish I don’t recommend buying bread at this Coffee Shop, that is unless you want validation that yes you are probably baking the recipe the right way.
We absolutely loved this place. The food was absolutely amazing and the workers were very friendly. Their coffee is good but their baked goods were what we loved. I love their chocolate croissants and their sourdough bread was out of this world. Definitely recommend for food lovers.
I had an amazing sourdough sandwich. The bread was so soft and fresh, with a nice chewy crust. The sauce and fresh herbs on it made this an exceptional sourdough experience. Would definitely recommend.
Quiche and salad was tasty. I enjoyed the flaky and soft crust. I just wish I had more of a bigger slice and side salad. The location of the Bakery is in the middle of nowhere, still it's a cute little spot.
My mom moved to the U.S. from France when she was in her late 20s and I grew up with homemade fresh bread weekly. Dozen does a great job with their baked goods. They clearly have spent time perfecting their recipes and it shows. I haven't had a single thing there that I didn't enjoy thoroughly.Oh, one time I went there shortly before Christmas and one of the employees gave me two of the poinsettias which was very kind. The only thing I would change about it if it were any of my business would be the flow of the place could be a little better but even that is a nit pick!I love this place and find myself there fairly frequently.
Cleean look, friendly workers.Egg sandwich with toast was pretty good, and the cappuccino and blueberry muffin were on point
