Came here thanks to a friends recommendation for authentic soul food, and that’s exactly what is was. Real home cooking, good portions and friendly service. If you’re looking for chitterlings or gizzards or hog maw (subbed for each other, so maybe call ahead to see what’s in for the day) definitely make the stop. Beef ribs were great too!
Customer service was excellent and so was the food! Had the chicken and dressing and my husband had the meatloaf. I highly recommend!
First time here so I ordered two meals.Meal 1: fried pork chops with macaroni and sweet potatoes. The chops were very thin but tasted ok. The mac was good. The sweet potatoes had marshmallows on top but were actually really good.Meal 2: pot roast with mashed potatoes and green beans. The pot roast was ok but was more reminiscent of beef stew. The potatoes were creamy. The green beans were very seasoned.The hot water cornbread was delicious.I also got the peach cobbler, which I ended up trashing. It was very soupy and extremely sweet.The staff wasn’t pleasant, except the young lady with the locs and the older lady on the register (who was very pleasant). One of the servers (don’t know her name but she wears a scarf on her head) kept telling people to speak up (with an attitude). Like, we have masks on so we get that it’s harder to hear but you don’t have to be rude.
First time there and will not be returning. The staff was wonderful but the food was not good. The macaroni was salty, the mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant potatoes and very bland. The greens were glory greens and the baked apples were from a can too with no taste. The chicken was dry and over cooked the pork chop was decent.

Ok. So the food is really good but after I got home last Sunday and saw that my white beans weren’t on my plate I took a picture. Messed up my whole meal. I called and the guy said he would take care of it. Now I’m thinking due to inconvenience to me they were going to do a whole fish plate but this visit went exactly like I thought it would. . With the looks on their face I said I will pay for the fish and he shook his head naw to the fish. I’m going to be honest. I thought they would’ve did the right thing. But I will never be supporting them again. Seriously not to mention I eat here at least 3x a week!!!
It was cool but the service was a lil bland. They couldn't get to us when we needed them. Good food service needs to be brought up to par.
