My experience was amazing I would highly recommend

I have been getting cakes from Darlene for 30 *yrs.. I have been more than satisfied. I remember telling her I wanted something special for my Pastor .. she said I got you. She created a Bible cake with his favorite verse... It was beautiful. I would recommend her to anyone...

Rude woman. Work on your phone etiquette. Definitely not a people person.

I spoke with Darlene on the phone for about 5 minutes and might I say, I am beyond appalled! I requested a tasting of a sour cream pound cake and informed Darlene that I was prepared to pay her for the cost and labor of these samples. Yet, she insisted she was the greatest cake maker in all of Nashville and denied me a paid sample of her cakes. Darlene took much offense to me asking to sample her cakes that she charges $300+ for and she then proceeded to hang the phone up mid conversation. Very unprofessional behavior, if this is how you conduct business I don’t want your cake anyway.

Do not recommend. This is the second birthday cake that I purchased and the cake was dry and the icing was crunchy with an odd flavor! She used to make such wonderful cakes. Not sure what has changed.

I called her to see if she could do a Masonic cake for me on Wednesday to be done by Saturday for my husband's 50th birthday party. She told me to send her a picture and she could do it. I called her back on Thursday with a picture and she had it done on Saturday. I googled her and she was the best choice according to her reviews. The cake was beautiful and delicious. I will be using her again and refer her to family and friends. She was so friendly and caring. I had to call her and let her know how pleased I was.

Simply delicious!!!

I have been a customer of Darlene’s Kakes ever since they were in the old Harvey’s Building at Church Street and 6th Avenue. Being that I worked in that building I would find myself going downstairs to get me a wonderful delectable treat from time to time.Did I mentioned that they were one of the few bakeries in Nashville that made pettifor cakes, my wife’s favorite. Also, my wife’s name is Darlene too, so this place is special to me for several reasons as you can imagine.Every year I get a few for our June anniversary. However, this time when I went to get them at their new location - The Donut Den in Green Hills. This year however when I went to pickup my order, as one would expect them to be behind the counter where the clerk would hand them to you to complete the order. NO! They were in a box on the counter where the public would sit. Now imagine my utter concern given that we are still in the COVID-19 Pandemic. Folks, if you haven’t noticed it’s STILL HERE.So I call to speak with the owner today to discuss my experience and to my surprise she thanked me for informing her but furthermore to my surprise she found no problem with this type of delivery - they were sealed weren’t they? Wow, I’m floored.Next year I will be looking for another bakery to provide the pettifor cakes. Thanks Darlene’s Kakes, it’s been a wonderful run.

I called Darlene at 1:30 and told her I needed a 50th wedding anniversary cake by 4pm. We forgot to order a cake!!!! Darlene went above and beyond and in a few hours we got a lovely white and gold 50th anniversary cake just in time for the party. It was perfect and delicious! Thank you for the emergency cake. We will definitely call you in the future.Ps. My mother-in-law who was celebrating her 50th asked where we got the cake. When I said “Darlene’s” she immediately knew who it was because she ordered a few “emergency cakes” from Darlene when Darlene was located downtown. Everything in life comes full circle. Even delicious cake!

I definitely expected more from this cake. Appreciate it that this was made ready with a week’s notice. However the top cream was too sugary and sweet. I specified for a blueberry vanilla cake but it hardly had any blueberry taste and they were just stuffed in the cake not as a cream or layer of crushed flavour like strawberries. The decoration was good but the cake was pretty much normal maybe too dry. The sugar of cream really put me off on the top layer and between. Also it tasted like cheap cakes not for something i would like to pay 35$+ something like you get 5$ kroger cakes
