Don't be fooled by the low-key facade. This place is the most authentic, delicious, down-home Italian food here in Nashville! Don't forget to leave room for the in-house made gelato. You will NOT be disappointed! The owners, Chuck and his Mom, are likely there making sure you have a top-notch evening. Be sure to say hello.
We met family here that was coming in from out of town. We have never been here before. We ate a late lunch at 2pm on a Monday and the place was nearly empty which we thought would be good for service. However, the server was very slow but looked frazzled like she had a million customers. We really didn’t see but 2 other tables with customers. We had a party of 9 but was not expecting to be in and out. We were visiting with family from out of town so we were happy to just be sitting. But the server would disappear and not refill drinks. I ordered wine and never got it until I reminder her about half way through the food and then she said they were out of it. I guess on Mondays they are out of everything from the weekend rush?? They were out of all dry red wines, chocolate and vanilla gelato, most of the desserts except the cannolis and the espressos, and many items from the main menu. The food was only so so. Had the cheese ravioli with spinach and mushrooms. There was so much water at the bottom, my ravioli was actually floating. The spinach and mushrooms were way over cooked and had no flavor. Not even a garlic taste. Glad we tried but probably wont be back unless family members make us.
What can I say about coco's that hasn't already been said? This little place is so cute and absolutely delicious! Our server was extremely kind and watching him joke around and take care of a table with two older women was heart warming. He really went above and beyond. Also he had great hair and a really cool style. I wish I caught his name! The food selection was vast and it was so hard to choose because we could tell everything was going to be good. I got cheese manicotti and caprese to start with. We ended with a bunch of cannolis and good god was it amazing. Will definitely be back to shop in the market and for more amazing service!
Oh wow, you've never had it so good when it comes to real honest to goodness Italian food! Not only is this a restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating tbag serves traditional dishes (and offers travel services to Italy!) but it has a fully stocked Italian market inside chock full of meats, cheeses, and desserts. From imported dried pastas, sauces, to the little tins of sardines and anchovies straight from the coast. Take a seat and you'll be treated to the best pizza, pasta, Arrabbiata, Timpano and an extensive wine list that will complement any dish. Cheesecake, truffles, and gelato will round out the night.
I grew up in New Jersey, and have missed this type of casual Italian restaurant ever since I left. Two of us shared Zuppa di Cozze (mussels) -- yum, and a Margharita Pizza with burratta -- worth the extra price -- yum. Our local host insisted on a piece of "Chocolate Eruption" cake to take home: four of us shared it and enjoyed every rich bite. We also got two beautiful salted caramel truffles for the road, which were very generously sized and delicious. Fun to see a hugely diverse crowd of diners, many of whom seemed to be regulars.
Been eating here for years. Really good food with a large menu that's also not overwhelming. Everything from their sandwiches, pasta, and pizza is fantastic. Highly recommended for a nice meal
What a beautiful slice of Italy we have here in Nashville. The front door has you walk right into an Italian market full of items you, or at least I, cannot find anywhere else (such as Amazon or your local grocery store). Real olive oil, maraschino cherries of all flavors, pasta made with love, and desserts of all kinds. My goodness, I wasn't expecting to buy anything. But I did. Truffles and a slice of blueberry lemon cake. Oh my gosh.. I'm tellin' you. This place has got to be doing Italy proud. The actual restaraunt is to the left after walking in. The room is dim. Lit with flame lights. Giving off an orange hue. There's another room that's inclosed, but outside. Which is where we sat. The room was equipped with heaters and coolers. Colored string lights and a beautiful bar decorate the outdoor area. The food and my cocktail were absolutely delicious. The bread, the dough, and especially the cheese, are on another level. It was extremely satisfying. I mean, the cheese is something you would need to experience on your own. Truly. Truly delicious. Loved it and I would definitely come back.As far as having anything negative to say, there were just a couple of details. And this is not to hinder this place at all. The overall experience was fantastic and the food unmatched. However, parking was a pain. As per Nashville tradition, we parallel parked on the side of the building. Half on pavement and the other half 2 or 3 inches down on gravel. That, and our waiter was sooo slow. Took quite some time to get a drink going (was out of simple syrup on a weekend) and then to take our food order, he just disappeared for quite some time. Enough time to get my usually patient wife thinking about just leaving. That being said, when served and when greeted, all employees were lovely and the experience felt genuine.I will be back. I'm feeling a date night with the wife here. Get us a babysitter. This place deserves a second go. And probably a third.
Loved this place! I felt like I had traveled to Italy. The menu was so much fun, the waitress was so helpful, the whole atmosphere was wonderful. I had a dish I had never had before and it lived up to my expectations. A mushroom pasta with prosciutto, and after of course the tiramisu. Afterwards we wandered through the market and marveled at the italian selections.
One of the better Italian restaurants in Nashville. Pasta and service are great. Servers are always friendly and accommodating. We always have to stop in the market area to pick up made in house pasta and sauce to take home.
Delicious cheese manicotti. The Gelato was also fabulous! He had banana Gelato & I had blueberry! Yum! We will be back!
