Central BBQ is a cute little stop, the ribs were so good I could eat a full rack and not feel guilty, I had them dry and dipped them in the mild sauce (no sauce needed I just wanted to try it). I also tried the smoked wings with the dry rub, I couldn’t place it but the rub was familiar. Also very good but a little spicy for me. I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Nashville!!
Amazing food served fast and hot by an amazing staff. I saw this place while driving around and decided to try some Memphis style bbq. The food was reasonably priced per pulled bbq plate ($12-$14) and ribs ($14 for half rack to $25 for full rack). The staff was kind and helpful asking if I was good throughout my meal. The pulled chicken and pork plate was amazing with the hot bbq sauce and vinegar sauce at the self serving bar. It had a great location and provided a great experience.
We ordered from Central BBQ off of ubereats.I must say we were not disappointed!One of our favorite things are BBQ nachosAnd we hadn't had any since where we lived before in Goodlettsville. With that being said, myself and my teenage son had been looking for some tasty bbq nachos in Nashville. We Found them today and they were still really goodBy the time they were deliveredOut by the airport. He got the full order and i got half. Both with extra bbq pork and we also put baked beans on top.. (The baked beans were very very good?? ?)My teenager is 14, 6'5"330lb football player, he couldn't finish his full order....they make their own chips which makes the best nachos. Pork tender and flavorful. I can't wait to try more items from here..well done y'all!!! Thanks for our dinner today. God bless y'all????
Definitely needs a little work. The walk-in area is built around boxes of items they use, like take out containers, so we found that a little peculiar, but not a deal killer. That being said, my sausage was cold inside, the fries clearly had been sitting around, the rolls tasted old and we thought the Cole slaw was bland. The pulled pork was tasty, but with so many cool BBQ places Central needs to get sorted out here. :-/
It was okay. Meat was dry. Side items were standard fare. The upside is that there were a good variety of sauces to cover the rather dry meat in. This is purportedly the best barbecue chain in Memphis, which is a city known for barbecue, and it was good to finally be able to try. I honestly don't see myself coming here again, however. Again, it was okay but that's it. Try it and see if you like it. EDIT: February 15, 2022. I added one star. The owner and I spoke directly and he assured me that my initial visit, which wasn't impressive, was not consistent with Central Barbecue's values and implored me to stop in again. I must say my second visit was much better. The meat was juicy and I was directed to the different sauces on in the condiment and silverware area; was not told about the sauces the first time. The macaroni and cheese came out hot and there was a good amount of desserts to choose which included: strawberry cake, chocolate cake, caramel cake, coconut cake, banana pudding, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies. There are also alcoholic beverages for consumption however they are all beer and ale; no wine. I appreciated the follow up from the owner to ensure I received the best customer service experience. Recommend.
The best BBQ restaurant in Nashville. Cannot miss the pork ribs! Potato salad is the best one I have ever had in a BBQ restaurant
Rude cashier, rude manager. Both employees refused to honor City Saver Coupon and insisted on full price. Assuming the manager would resolve the issue he was equally as rude as the cashier. Would not eat there again until a change of management occurs. Contacted Central BBQ online and no resolution.
My family has eaten here several times now, and the BBQ Nachos is what we love most. I like the pork ones, but they also have chicken. My kids enjoy the Macaroni and cheese which is sprinkled with a bbq rub type seasoning. The nachos are the star of the show at this place! The service is not amazing. Last time we were there our order took quite a while to prepare and we had to go back up and ask about it. But it is worth the wait. Make time to walk a block down the street and around the corner and you can get some good views of the Tennessee Capitol building from here.
We had excellent service. The food was really good too! The one table that is close to the self serve BBQ sauce might do better just a few inches to away from the sauce area. The staff checked on us. We all enjoyed what we ordered. The coleslaw was very good and I had the pulled pork sandwich without sauce also good! We will be back.
We are outta-towners just passing by and i saw this place on Doordash and the photos looked amazing so I ordered and guess what IT LIVED UP TO MY BEST IMAGINATION! Sauce packets and fresh towels down to the portion and flavor all so wonderful! Big portions, FLAVORS BURSTING. Carefully and cleanly packaged. Sauce packets are all included with variety. I’d so come back to Nashville just for this place! Thank you for such a WONDERFUL meal for our family after a long dreadful drive!
