Found this place on a TikTok video. Checked out the reviews and decided to go visit Al while passing through town. This is a great family run deli / eatery with great southern roots. I enjoyed the fried pork chops and my wife had the catfish. It was great visiting with Al and his son while we dined. If you enjoy soulful southern food in a quaint setting you should certainly check this place out!!!!
My favorite meal is breakfast, I love it I could eat it anytime. This is hands down the best, not exaggerating, the BEST breakfast I have ever bought in my life. Yeah it's a little grease shack, but I love that stuff, the world isn't some corporate clean cut place. The coffee was great, and everything on my big Al's big breakfast was cooked to perfection. As long as I live I'll love Big Al's and will come here anytime I'm in Nashville.
The breakfast is amazing, you also can’t beat the price. The homemade biscuits are the best I’ve ever had. A must stop for breakfast when your in Nashville. Big Al is an amazing man who cares about his customers and food, and it shows.
Al and AJ treated me swell and served up great biscuits and a gravy that was absolutely off the charts in terms of flavor. (A complex blend that included sausage, pepper, and rosemary and other spices that I'm still trying to decipher in my memory. A far cry from typical low-res creamy sausage gravies.) The bar may be too high to reach - I'll just have to keep coming back....
Delicious! Al and his son were incredibly kind and inviting! The food was so good, when we couldn’t fit in any cobbler for dessert, we took some home with us for later. Had the shrimp and grits, fried pork chops, chicken and waffles and all are highly recommended!
We had breakfast here and it was amazing! Very friendly people. We stayed directly across from the deli and met Big Al, he is such a blessing to meet! No doubt, I will patronize this establishment every time I go to Nashville!
We ordered a few items off the catering menu to eat/freeze after having our baby to minimize cooking. This place is legit. The food is absolutely amazing and Al is the nicest guy. Great variety and everything is great quality and full of flavor. We will definitely be repeat customers!
Excellent quantity and quality for a reasonable price. It's a pretty small establishment so you will wait outside to be seated. Extremely nice and friendly staff. The bacon/egg/cheese biscuit is very generous and is highly recommended.
We ate here while staying in the neighborhood and I cannot recommend it enough! The staff was SO friendly and welcoming! Best fried chicken and waffles I had in Nashville. Do yourself a favor and hit up this gem!
