I heard decent things about this restaurant so we decided to order today being that I had a taste for some southern cooking today. The menu was very limited but make sure you are on the correct website. One site will state a slight difference in meat quantity. I had the 3 wing meal with 2 sides(Greenbeans Dressing) so website says 12.99 for a dinner so that's fine. I didn't get a chance to eat my dressing do to a piece of plastic.My chicken was seasoned however it had been cooked to long bc it was dry. My green beans were ok. Give them a try don't allow my experience to change your mind.
I almost never leave Google reviews so if I’m leaving one, you know it’s GOOD. This food slaps, claps, does a jig, the whole nine yards. LOL this will be a new regular eatery for me whenever I’m in the Nashville area!
I had heard great things about this resturant. They measured up well. I got meatloaf with three sides: collard greens, sweet potatoes, and macaroni and cheese with cornbread and lemonade. The lemonade was really sweet so probably will never get that again. (personal preference). You get plenty of food.. enough to last for leftovers. All came up to about $22. The most I’ve ever payed for soul food but I’d say it was worth it.
Every dish contained sugar. Vegetables are not supposed to be sweet. Oxtails and pork chops were very tasty. Meatloaf topping was way to sweet. Cabbage, greens, corn all full of sugar. I would definitely suggest to the establishment to not use sugar to season food. $100 of unedible food.
Great black-ownes soul food spot and solid customer service. I ordered the oxtail, which is only available on Saturday and Sunday, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese. All were delicious. I've also used this place for my sides on Thanksgiving.
I had a couple of good experiences with the restaurant getting the fried chicken lunch/dinner combo, but the last time I got it (1/14), the chicken felt a bit colder than usual. When I opened the chicken up, it was all pink and I had to unfortunately chuck it out. Still ate the mashed potatoes and green beans though, which were good. Still, being served raw chicken like that is a big negative for me. I give it 2 stars for the couple of good experiences I had.... Hopefully it was just a really bad day last time.
I have been looking for a good soul food place. This place was amazing, I ordered the fried chicken with collard greens and mac & cheese. Honestly I read the reviews they made me nervous but I just decided to try it anyway. I’m glad I did. I did not have to add anything to the greens to my surprise they had a really good flavor (I had so many bland from other places). The fried chicken is simple but very good. The only reason it was not five was because of the quantity of main dish. I feel for what you pay, it should include another piece of chicken at least. Other than that it was perfect. Super friendly and fast service.
I wanted to like this place but just couldn't get over the fact the food simply isn't good. Everything tasted below average and bland. I did not know you could mess up Fried Fish but they did. The dressing is horrible whoever decided to put red peppers in dressing needs to stop. I was craving some good soul food and should of kept going by this place. If you want good food do not stop here. Update: Now the CHURCH PEOPLE AND PASTOR are on here trying to intimidate me over an honest review. I hope you feel shamed for your actions. I guess you tried to intimidate everybody else who left a bad review but that would be a lot because clearly a lot of people left a bad review and they all say the same thing.
I absolutely LOVE this soul food restaurant!! Everything is always hot, fresh, the staff is friendly, and they give really big portions. For anyone that disagrees with me then just say that you don't like good food because this food is HITTING!! Everyone should eat here.
First time here! Very good home cooked meal. They had all the Sunday favorites. I will visit again.
