i had high hopes for this place based on the reviews that i read, but i was sadly disappointed! i was looking for a nice coffee shop to hangout in for a couple of hours and found this one while searching google maps. on first glance, i was enticed, excited even! stepping in, i enjoyed the design and decorations, but was confronted by the aggressive sounds of tyler the creator’s “goblin.” not exactly the vibe i’m looking for on a sunday, mid-morning. i go up to the counter to order and find that the sausage egg and cheese, which would normally be less than $10 where i normally go, is now $11??? but i get it and a chai latte anyway. although i was surprised by the quick service, i was even more surprised by the okay quality for the amount i was spending. with tyler the creator yell-rapping in my ears, i take a bite of the biscuit and wouldn’t you know it, it’s DRY and the cheese UNMELTED!! so i wolf down the biscuit and swig my chai latte sadly, after having spent $17. overall, i would say that the interior is interesting, the service is speedy, but there is something lacking in the quality of food and has a conflicting identity. 3/5 stars!
You can get a really outstanding cup of coffee, espresso, or a specialty drink here. It's a bit inconsistent in my experience, but the drinks are overwhelmingly good. The only real problem I've encountered is that they don't seem to want you to hang around--the seating is the most uncomfortable I've ever seen at a business: tiny half-circle stools that tilt down, and "chairs" with backs that only reach your waist.Worth noting that the seating issue is specific to the 5 Points location; others, like in Germantown, are great.
I ordered $62 of breakfast this morning for 3 coffees, 2 burritos, and 1 breakfast bagel. While the team seemed very friendly, and the atmosphere looked really inviting, we ordered these for pick up before a long drive. The coffees were $8 each and we were disappointed to find them lukewarm, in very small cups, and the taste was overall lacking. I struggle to find the value at that price point. We ended up throwing most of them out. One breakfast burrito was decent, although lacking flavor and the tortilla was underwhelming, but the second burrito had hardly any chorizo in it. I thought they might have forgotten the chorizo in the second burrito, but there was one pea-sized amount at the bottom, which was perhaps worse than forgetting altogether. The bagel sandwich was simply a plain bagel, square piece of egg, bacon, and one slice of square cheddar cheese. There was no butter, spread, or seasoning of any kind. Bottom line the value of the food was mediocre compared to its cost. Again, I loved the hipster vibe, and maybe the in-person dining experience is better, but the his morning’s breakfast left me wanting more—and left me wanting the bad taste out of my mouth.
Very small portion sizes. Two small breakfast items and a small chai latte for a payment of $35. Was expecting a lot better for the cost.
Really cool atmosphere, but sadly very disappointed in the biscuit sandwiches. They were a bit pricey to just seem like something thawed out from a freezer section at the store. I’ve heard they used to have fresh, homemade-like sandwiches. Hopefully they start that up again! ?
I love coming here for the espresso and a breakfast biscuit in the morning; really nice spot, but so wasteful. Most quality shops in town are already serving in porcelain cups again, but I have to drink my espresso or drip out of paper if I “dine in.” Why? I come twice a week, and that’s 16 wasted cups, lids, and paper bags per month for my dine-in order. Could be no waste at all. You’re serving a quality product, why not in a quality setup?
Such good pour over!!! And get the beans for home. They are life changing. I liked the Cabin Fever!
great coffee!! I had no idea what to get but the guy on register was very helpful. the coffee steep bags you can buy are also great
What a sick spot. I love it. The only thing is the music is not my vibe to intense. The look and feel is great. The coffee is yummy. Customer service is abit intense and a little unfriendly.
This place takes itself way too seriously. Terrible coffee, tasted burnt, their simple syrup was infused with something awful that ruined the cold brew. Food is edible at best. $36 for a burrito, soggy avocado toast and 2 coffees. I guess I'm not fancy enough for this place.Should have walked another 300 feet to Burger King.
