I really like the vibe and customer service, but but as for the coffee... it is very sour fyi. So if you like that you will be happy, if not... i recommend the mocha or the cappuccino (not the americano, pour over, or drip)As a general note pretty much all coffee shops seem to serve americano in super scalding hot water... a non-scalding option would be a game changer. Just throwing it out there! :) not only does it take forever to cool down but I'm pretty sure the lining on the inside of the paper cup starts actually melting into your drink.
I stumbled across a picture on the 8th & Roast Instagram page that was promoting a vibrant pink & pretty drink called “The Strawberry Matcha”. It is described in the caption to be a strawberry-infused simple syrup blended with oat milk & dragonfruit matcha. When I went to order, I asked for an extra pump or two of syrup & subbed the oat milk for macadamia as suggested by the barista for an overall sweeter taste. If I were to return & order this again, I would most likely ask for half and half if that is an available option to get the level of sweetness I was hoping for - however, my original order listed above was not too shabby… I parked across the street & I finished the entire thing before I even made it back to my vehicle if that tells you anything. Highly recommend with your personal sweetness level preferences ft. your milk of choice 4.5 out of 5 for uniqueness, color, and taste ?
The espresso was nicely balanced with apple and caramel flavor with good crema and body. I was able to get a ceramic cup when I asked for it. There's not a lot of seating. The rosemary vanilla latte was well balanced with subtle rosemary flavor. We didn't buy any whole bean coffee because the one we wanted wasn't roasted recently. Overall this was a really good example of a third wave coffee shop.
Very cute coffee shop! I had the monthly special the sweetheart latte and it was delicious! Definitely recommend stopping by if your in the area.
Such a cute coffee shop. I love their americano! It's a little small and sometimes hard to find a spot to sit. Otherwise, it's one of the best shops in Nashville!
Favorite coffee place. (The only I found that does pour over/filter coffee) everyone else has standard drip and espresso based, but this shop has pour over! The tables are sticky here. The warm interior is accented by plants, natural light and wood fixtures.Kombucha is one of the best I've ever had! (Walker Brothers -Blueberry Jasmine) scone pastry is amazing! They also never gave me part of my order, so I had to go back up and ask for it. (Bare this in mind)
Horrendous Customer Service. They gave me the wrong order and instead of just giving me the correct items they insisted I'm the one that made the mistake in picking up the wrong bag....there were 2 other people in the entire store and I was the only one that just placed an order so there was only 1 item on the counter to be picked up. They were incredibly rude, there's much better coffee in Nashville, don't waste your time here.
Their employees are so rude! I just saw them tell a customer they made a mistake....which was not true, I saw the whole thing because I was 1 of 2 customers in the shop. And if that's not bad enough, the employee took the pastry out of the bag that the girl had taken out of the shop then brought back in, because they gave her the wrong pastry...and the employee took the pastry out of the bag and put it back in their display case for another customer to buy....SO GROSS. It makes me wonder what else they are doing. I will never go to an 8th and roast again.
I got an iced vanilla latte that was very good! The vibe is great in this brick shop, with windows that let in lots of light. There’s also lots of outlets along the wall. Parking next to the building was convenient.
Such a cute little place. The chai latte was delicious and the potato/leek quiche was sooo yummy. Plus they have free WiFi. Definitely will be back...
