The food was pretty good, it is more upscale and pretty expensive though. We did the date night special for our anniversary for $80. It included two appetizers, two main entrees and a dessert. Our waitress was very friendly. My husband loved his meal. I personally didn’t think the steak was seasoned very good (if at all) but they put a ton of seasoning on the outside of the baked potatoes which was very good. I would have loved it more if the steak was better. For the price I didn’t think it was worth it, especially if it wasn’t the date night special. I’ve had better filet mignon at cheaper places. All in all it was good though.

Went to Steakhouse 5 last night for dinner. Honestly, I feel like this place is a bit overrated. I will say my ribeye was cooked well but was not a good cut of meat. The fat was barely rendered so it ended up being very chewy and under-seasoned. It did have a nice crust though. Seems like they might use sous vide technique and rely heavily on their sauces. I did regret going for the Dijon over my wife's choice of the chimichurri which was much better. She had the rack of lamb which was cooked medium rare as she ordered for one and well done for the other. Our waitress was excellent, but I don't think I'll make another trip.
We went to SHF on a recommendation. When we arrived, we admired the quaint and relaxed atmosphere outdoors. We never actually went in past the hostess counter as we asked to eat outside. It was a beautiful evening. Upon receiving the menus, I was shocked. A 16oz split bone ribeye was $65. I got that anyway just knowing it would be filling and good. My lady got the salmon for $32. Beer was the local average about 7 or 8 a bottle. When we were sat, the hostess left, then the server arrived with a "fancy" glass bottle of water and poured water in glasses that were at our tables when we arrived. When our food arrived, we were highly disappointed. The salmon was supposed to be medium well and it was medium rare, still cool to the touch inside. And the serving was a few bites. The steak was probably the worst steak I've ever had. It was cooked properly, and even looked good, but it smelled bad, and I gagged on 3 bites. I notified the server when he came back and he took it and said he would get a manager. The manager showed up and offered his apologies and asked for another chance, and perhaps with a new York strip, grilled instead of cooked in a cast iron skillet. I said sure. Unfortunately when it arrived, it tasted worse. I'm a steak guy, eat it every chance I get, and at lots of places; this was just not a good steak to me. The manager came back and I told him after a bite of the strip I couldn't eat that either. The reason they get 4 stars is because the service was excellent. The manager knocked it out of the park with satisfaction. He didn't charge either steak, compensated a few beers and a baked potato, and gave us a gift card to another restaurant. As I said to him, I'll say now. To me, the steak was no good, but that's not to say to others it won't be. It seems to be their "house taste" of steak and I just didn't like it. While I probably won't be back for the food, I must say the service was great.
The House salad with poppy seed vinaigrette dressing is amazing. Steak was good and loved the dark chocolate crème brûlée. When I made the reservation I marked that we were celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant did nothing to acknowledge our anniversary. After reading the other reviews it looks like they at least give you a free dessert so that was a little disappointing.
It was overall a good experience. The service was slow though as it took over 10 minutes for a server to greet us and take our drink order. The food was solid. The lamb was not cooked to my specifications, but it was seasoned well and delicious. The mashed potatoes were the highlight. Smooth, creamy, and lots of garlic. The drinks were awesome too. The margarita was strong, yet flavorful with a delicate balance of traditioal flavors. Definitely going back. The decor was very nice and it had an upscale atmosphere.
Came in last night from out of town had the split bone ribeye the manager helped me with (I was in the back brace ) thank you for your kindness.. the steak was fall off the bone tender , perfectly seasoned ..the loaded baked potato was amazing and the salad was great too .. don’t change a thing .. your hospitality was also amazing and accommodating.. highly recommend to others …5 ⭐️’s..Chris
We made reservations for our a wedding anniversary. Starting with the hostess through the rest of the staff, it was an exceptional evening. Excellent menu choices, presentation & meal were outstanding. We'll definitely be back.
What a wonderful evening at Steakhouse Five!We sat outside (it was such a beautiful day) and had Raul as our (amazing and perfectly attentive) server. He was really great, and we were so glad to have him!My dearest friend and I like to eat delicious food and drink well made cocktails, and we definitely did that tonight! We each started with an old fashioned, and we got the ham dip and sour dough appetizers. That ham dip on that flat bread is DIVINE. It's like a delicious warm and deconstructed cheese ball, and who doesn't love those? I didn't have to have any of the sourdough to know it's amazing. It comes from Simply Pure Sweets! I try to limit my possible consumption of barley, so I was doing that here.I had a house salad before my entree (I just really love salad lol), and it was so good! Strawberry and blue cheese is not something I'd have put together myself, but it was a perfect pair.As a meal, I chose the Kansas City Strip with chimicurri and broccolini. I started with the strip, so I'll start there. Perfectly cooked to my liking, which is rare to med-rare. It was obviously plenty of meat, so I brought half of it home. It was seasoned wonderfully, and the sauce just enhanced that seasoning but wasn't required. The broccolini was, I believe, cooked in sesame oil. This was again a choice I wouldn't have made on my own, as I usually stick to stir fries and Asian dishes for sesame oil, but it was so good! I might have to cook broccolini that way at home sometimes!Of course I had a second old fashioned, which was equally as delicious, and we sat and talked for a while. Even then, Raul remained attentive and made sure we had waters. The fire on the patio was wonderful, and we probably would have stayed longer if we weren't people who go to bed early ?Thanks for a wonderful evening of delicious food and for creating such a relaxed and beautiful environment that made us feel right at home ?(Photo of my takeaway containers as a gentle reminder to do small things for each other and the planet!)
