In Nashville for business and vacation. Thought we would try Steak n Shake for the first time yesterday evening. In Mt. Juliette Lobby was closed but we were told the drive up was open. At 830pm at the drive up it was dark, we couldn't read the menu because the menu was not lit up and we were told "Sorry the sign is broken". The speakers and mikes seemed to work fine. So we left and went to the next restaurant nearby. It seemed like the employees at Steak n Shake didn't care to take our potential order.
I have been meaning to give these guys some praise for some time. In my trips through the area, Tori and the team go above and beyond to give you a food experience that rivals not just other Steak n' Shake locations, but many of those "craft" joints peppered throughout Middle Tennessee. I'm a foodie at heart. I love a good burger. I've been disappointed by so many of these newer places that are... Well, they're fine, but that's about it. I stopped by Steak n' Shake recently to get one a 7x7... It's usually a pretty messy endeavor.. but when I ordered from this location, Tori and the team asked me how I wanted my burger built and other options that I normally haven't gotten when I order the 7x7 in the other Mid TN locations. When they gave me a preview of how the burger was coming along, my jaw hung open. The pictures I took don't do it justice, I had to lean it to the side to hold it in place and get it all in frame. Ladies, I will be back again the next time I'm in the area. Service like this is what elevates a dining experience.
I was the only person in line yet it took them 5 minutes to be ready for my order. By that time 6 people were in line behind me. I ordered a cookie dough shake. I got 4 pieces of cookie dough on the top, nothing else, and half of the cup was filled with whip cream.
Where's the beef? I had to triple-check my double cheeseburger to make sure it actually had two burger patties. I've seen bologna thicker than these burger patties, but probably not nearly as good as these patties taste, despite how thin they are. I'd just like to see a double cheeseburger that actually looks like one. The cookie dough shake was awesome and the chicken tenders were ok, but my daughter did not approve of them.
Burger was good. I dont understand why my fries were in a cup. But food was hot and fresh.
Horrible location. I’ve been to several Steak n shakes and this was by far the worst one. Left us in the drive thru for 30mins and we kept saying “Hello” and was told “Give us one second” finally took our order and she said they weren’t doing shakes until 6pm? It’s 4pm, are you really that lazy to not make a shake?! Also dining area is close, and only one other car was in the drive thru. Finally got our food and it was cold. From someone coming out of state to this location, it was embarrassing and HORRIBLE. I do not recommend. I’ll take my money elsewhere. Very poor management & customer service in general.
The food was great, normal steak and shake quality. The employees here were very kind and very personable! I felt very comfortable!
I ordered 2 double burgers and both of them were completely raw throughout the entire burger and I had already eaten half at this point and all the manager did was give a refund no apology or anything if I could give less than one star I would
Mom and i had the butter onion dbl burger and fries for 4.00! It was great! We ordered grilled onions instead of raw. The order was perfect. We went during happy hour so our drinks were half off too. Total bill was less than 12 bucks....what more could you ask for!!
The last time that I ate here was on Christmas day. Obviously there were very few options for Christmas lunch, so these guys won. The meal was good and hot. The place was clean and tidy. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. I totally appreciate that these guys are open when others are closed.
