I have found that tiny hole in the wall Mexican restaurants have the best food. You can tell you are in the right place by the number of Mexican tradesmen having lunch there. El Comal is not one of these places. It is in a suburban shopping center and the food is clearly targeted to the bland American palate. No amount of hot salsa can save it. Can't be too critical though, they are catering to their customer base who think Taco Bell is Mexican food.
Crowded but organized when we went on a Friday night. We were seated within 10 minutes, and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Delicious amazing food. We will be going back!
Overall I like the food at El Comal. I was not a fan of these tacos. Next time I'll order something different.
The food was really good it wasn’t too expensive and the wait staff was really nice. They have a nice little (small) outdoor area. I’ll definitely come back
I'm really not sure how this restaurant received such great reviews. The food was awful. The salsa was bland, margaritas weren't good, and our entrees were awful. The food came out so quick. Almost immediately after we ordered, which makes me think they didn't cook anything. My husband ordered a standard Mexican dish and I ordered one of their most popular dishes. The sauce on my husband's dish tasted like it came out of a jar. Service was good, which is the only positive thing I can say. We will not be going back.
My first experience here and was here with 7 other people. My food was amazing! Cleaned the whole plate. So did everyone else and getting our food was fast and hot. Definitely coming back again when I visit to try different plates.
