Had my first negative interaction at a Chick-Fil-A ever… might be the first one in recorded history honestly. Typically when going through the drive thru they ask “would you like any sauces?” To which I would reply “chick-fil-a sauce”… today it was very busy and they forgot to ask, no big deal. When I got to the window to get my food I couldn’t remember if I had added that detail where they take your order. I asked “is there any chick-fil-a sauce in the bag?” The window worker replied “well did you ask for any? If you didn’t ask for any there wouldn’t be any in the bag”…. I replied “no, I guess I didn’t”.It didn’t hit me until I drove away that it had been an interaction at CHICK-FIL-A! Not McDonald’s or Comcast Customer Service or Bhengazi Air Control but THE CHICK-FIL-A!Was not my pleasure.
My daughters and I were hungry so we decided to go to our favorite fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A. We placed our orders through the drive through. It was slow for some odd reason and the service was even slower. We had to wait on the side of the drive through so the few cars behind us get their food. Anyway, after few minutes, we got the food from a young man. I asked him, should I check the order before I leave, he assured me that everything is complete and in the bag. I trusted him and I drove away to find out at the house that they have missed my daughter’s chicken sandwich.I called back and I spoke to a manager which I was very disappointed at. He apologized but I can tell that it wasn’t sincere. He asked for my phone number so he can add a sandwich on it.I have been coming to this location for so many years and I know most of the staff and the owner Mr. Ray. I’m not looking for a free meal but I need the service to stay the same so my family and I continue to go their. Thanks
No spoon for soup. (Got a fork!?) Ordered BBQ, Honey Mustard, and Chick-fil-A sauce for nuggets. We got Honey Mustard and Polynesian sauce.(No BBQ or Chick-fil-A sauce!!?) No napkins! They tried to give my order to the wrong car!! Plenty of kids working there. They need someone in charge!
I'm writing this lengthy post for one purpose. I hope that this story can be some encouragement and a blessing to someone. Yesterday, we had our 3 month post-activation appointment at Vanderbilt for Reece's Cochlear Implants. The appointment and the trip was one of our best yet and we are thankful for all of that. Traveling with a toddler and wife who is 21 weeks pregnant and needing to pee every 20 minutes is challenging as it is, but it all went well and we had a great day together. Karah and I have now made this trip several times now and we have a bit of a system developed. We stop at a particular Mt. Juliet exit on the way back home to gas up and grab a bite to eat at Chic-Fil-A. The story begins at this particular franchise. At this Chic-Fil-A franchise, there's an older lady that works the register taking your order named Judy. Mrs. Judy is one of the sweetest and most personable people I have ever encountered in my life. Are the other folks faster at taking your order? Sure they are, but you do not get the service that you get with Mrs. Judy. Mrs. Judy took our order as she has done so many other times in the past and then we went to find a table to sit at. While we were waiting on our food, Mrs. Judy delivered an order to a nearby table and I overheard the conversation between her and the family. When she handed the food to the parents, the mother told Mrs. Judy "Judy, I just want you to know that you are the absolute highlight to our trips here to this restaurant. The kids are always asking me when we can go see Mrs. Judy again. There should be a Mrs. Judy at every single Chic-Fil-A." Mrs. Judy replied "Thank you so much for that. I tell people all of the time that I don't have a job, I have a ministry and I am so thankful that I get to interact with so many people on a daily basis and serve them". My worship and praise generally comes via tears. In church, I don't normally raise my hand or shout Amen, but I definitely cry. Yesterday, I cried while sitting there eating my Chic-Fil-A food. Why was I moved to tears in the Chic-Fil-A? I was moved to tears because Mrs. Judy was quite literally doing "The Great Commission". Jesus was oozing out of this lady and it was so moving to me to witness this. As far as Chic-Fil-A is concerned, Judy is commissioned to serve customers food with a smile, but she has taken it a step further and sees her monetary job as a ministry to live out an example of Christ for all of the customers that she comes into contact with on a daily basis. I have often made excuses in my life as to why I can't impact lives or be a witness in a particular situation, but I was taught in that moment that something as simple as taking food orders and delivering food to customers, you can still be a witness for a dark and dying world. So if you are ever traveling on I-40 and you get a craving for some of the Lord's Chicken, stop at Exit 226 and see Mrs. Judy. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
So if it storms they don't inform any customers they're not taking orders. You'll pull up and they'll all stare at you and laugh instead of informing their WHOLE line of customers they're not accepting orders. We understand employee safety but you also need to respect your customers that make your business run. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. Management made a team member tell us they're not accepting orders while management was laughing.
The service was fast and the food was almost warm... the one thingI would like to see them offer is LARGE ice cream cones and LARGE shakes, instead of this small for ALL. We are not mice we are Americans, and we want our ice cream BIG,like our... well you know what I mean. However, we do appreciate you looking out for our waistlines best interest.
I ordered inside. The person was helpful and friendly. Our orders were correct and food was hot. We ate at the outside tables since I had my dog with me. They also gave me a small container for water for my dog.
The BEST service I ever had at a restaurant. The food is delicious. This is the best place for dinner or lunch
No matter how long that line is, they move it so fast and efficient. The people who work there are always polite and cheerful. My order has only been wrong 3 times in the past 9 years of going there
Always fast drive thru, beautiful inside of the restaurant. Have had my order wrong once, but they got all the important things wrong. Great quality and great tasting.
