I have been super excited to go try this place because my roommate said it was amazing.Okay, the service is amazing, yes, indeed!Things you should know first, I am trying to be healthy again and this can be difficult in Memphis.So the options for unhealthy are amazing! There are biscuits and gravy, fried this and that. All very tempting but I went with the motel California. It has all the things I like, scrambled eggs, chicken, avocado, spinach and potatoes. So I’m pretty excited and it was nothing of what I had hoped. Very dry, and tasteless. It was almost like it was pre made and was sitting under a heat lamp for awhile.So there are a lot of things that could have happened, they were extremely busy. And I’m pretty sure this is not their signature dish.I will go back to try them again because if a place is busy and the staff is overwhelmed, things can happen. I would hope that they could add more spinach.Other than that, Wally Hatchets is a fun environment with writing and Memphis art on the walls. Definitely go there for comfort food!! I’m sure it is excellent- my roommate said so!!
Great experience. Even better food. Friendly Staff. We will be back. My son has the grumpus breakfast. I had the fat bottom cow. We enjoyed it to the end. Very filling.
Delicious food, amazing staff and customer service. You feel like you are part of the family. The owner Torrey is friendly and approachable and has some great stories. This was our breakfast the anaconda cheeseburger omelette and just a chicken fried steak with sausage gravy. Both yummy and filling. We highly highly recommended Wally Hatchet’s for both a wonderful meal and a pleasant experience.
Came here for breakfast with my workmates... very homy places with exremely clean bathrooms ?.The breakfast was pretty tasty with great portion sizes for such affordable prices. I love that they serve drinks(alcohol) with breakfast! We had a great time here!
An amazing breakfast, great atmosphere and great staff. Wish we lived closer, we'd definitely be back. Don't miss the biscuits or the potatoes.
Love this place, especially the biscuits and gravy. If you sing pour some gravy on me when you order they'll trow in a side of pancakes.
Just passing through Memphis, from Morgantown WV back home to Amarillo TX. We had a delicious breakfast! The pancakes were amazing—wish I had one right now! Great staff and kind owner—excellent local flavor!
I was visiting memphis the other day and my mom wanted waffles. She wanted to go to th3 waffle house but I said let's try a new place. I googled waffles near me and this place popped up.When we pulled up, my mom was worried because of thr location and how it looked from the outside. I told her that places that look like this from the exterior are usually hidden gemsHidden gem it was. Great staff and very friendly. Our waitress was attentive. It was majority white customers and staff. In today's time, you kind of worry a out how you'll be treated by staff and customers. Staff treated us like family. The patrons didn't pay us much attention.My 8 year old loved it. We will be returning to try other items on the menu. We wanted to write on the walls but forgot to ask.
The place is remarkable! Very clean, pleasant and a full wall of memories, past and present.. love the ambiance, the dedication to our armed forces! And the food, AWESOMENESS TO THE MAX!!! Highly recommend this establishment. Staff, very friendly, polite and very caring???
Love this place! It’s welcoming from the moment you walk through the door! The staff is super friendly! The food is awesome! There’s a menu full of great options to choose from that makes it hard to decide what to order, but you can’t go wrong! Great atmosphere to enjoy some good food! Highly recommended!
