We stopped in for food while on vacation because of the reviews and location. Service wasn't the greatest and the cleanliness wasn't great either. They had just opened for the day so the trash on the floors under tables really shouldn't have been there. The food (which frankly is what really matters) was phenomenal. We ordered the sampler to share. We chose coleslaw and collard greens for our sides. I typically do not like coleslaw but found it to be tasty. The collard greens were awesome with the perfect amount of heat, we ordered seconds. All the meat was tasty, tender, fall off the bone good. We ordered our child a hamburger and fries. They loved the fries but not so much the burger. It was dry and not very favorable but this is a BBQ place not a burger joint. We would eat here again if we were locals. Next time we come visit we prefer checking out different places.

BBQ ribs were awful. Nothing but fat on 12 racks of ribs. Waitress gave is somebody else ticket. It was truly a forgettable experience.

Pig on Beale is an easily overlooked kind of place that you would be sorry if you missed it. I ordered the BBQ Platter that came with Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled pork. I also asked for a little taster of their smoked turkey. The pulled pork: the burnt ends were CRISPY, juicy, and filled with a beautiful smoke with every bite. I combined them with the spicy sauce on the table- The Chicken: the jumbo wings had this crunchy, smokey char around them. When I bit into them this little bit of BBQ Chicken juice dribbled down my chin. The turkey: tasted like someone sang love songs to the trees as they were growing in order to make them smoke that much better later on. Saving the best for last. The ribs. Omg the ribs!: The plate came out and the ribs looked like they were using all of their last strength to hold onto the bones, and just like Jack on that door in Titanic, they lost their struggle to hold on. They were hard to eat because they literally fell off the bones. They were smoked with love. Then, I added some extra rib sauce. I would drink that sauce if I could. It was a tangy, smokey sauce that danced with the crispy, crunchy, juicy parts of those ribs. I struggled and finally gave up, having to eat the ribs with a FORK! Again, fat man, who has tried ribs in all varieties from Texas, to Chicago, to the Carolinas, to Alabama, and even to South Korea, so my opinion automatically matters more than some skinny dude. These are the 2nd best ribs I have ever had in my entire life! Which means that you should plan a trip around coming here. It's worth the detour!

The place was virtually empty at 7pm on a Monday evening. Not usually a good sign but we’d been recommended we try it. First, the portions were huge, probably too big. But then so were the prices; we paid $100 for a plate of 6 ribs, one of pulled pork, both with fries and coleslaw and a couple of beers. That included a reduced tip, because the waiter got me the most expensive beer despite ordering a normal one, I didn’t know until the bill came. They charge extra for using a credit card. The cutlery is plastic, the ribs were fatty, and the place generally looked quite run down. Would not go back.

Big meaty ribs! We loved the place. Right on beale street. It's not fancy. Just plain BBQ.

The ribs were nice if a little dry . The restaurant itself felt quite dirty with bbq splashed up the walls. Biggest bug was paper plates and plastic cutlery!!

I've eaten a lot of BBQ in my 69 years, so I have many likes and dislikes when I try new restaurants. I found The Pig pork to be perfectly seasoned, well done but moist, the portion was good value. I had a sandwich but skipped the bun to make room for the pork. I also had the collards and slaw as sides. I love collards like I love pork, so again can be fussy. These were cooked with a bit of pork, and well seasoned. They tasted sweet when i had expected salty. They were great! The slaw was equally excellent but I could not guess the seasoning in the creamy dressing. Yum is as good as I can gues. The regular and spicy red sauces were an excellent match for the pork. The unsweetened iced tea was perfect! Our server, Kelsey, was prompt to welcome us, efficient in taking the orders and in checking back with us about our satisfaction. And I did ask a lot of questions before ordering. She was very patient.

Absolutely engaging staff, relaxed and chill atmosphere, crazy good BBQ, and really great overall spot to have a beer and some BBQ. One of the best spots we ate BBQ in fact! This place has a ton of awards for good reason! And it’s right in the heart of Beale street!

Awesome place to visit. Cool scenery, fast service, great staff and awesome bbq.

Food was really great. It’s pretty expensive, my husband and I ate here without the kiddos. They don’t have a kids menu, which is needed. I couldn’t see myself spent that much money for little ones. Other than that the food is good.
