This is not a place to eat. The young lady came around from the kitchen cursing. The food was heart attack food the amount of salt the put in the food. Let's not talk about the rice. Mexican rice is not suppose to be sunshine yellow. It's supposed to be orange. And the street taco. You have more cilantro the meat and the tortilla they serve it with. Let's stay it's not a tortilla. ****WARNING DONT EAT HERE*****
I love the salads. Sure they'll look like a hot mess when you're halfway through, but they are amazing
Carrefour at Kirby is still thriving despite the economy and Swanky's taco shop is still some of the best authentic Taco restaurants in Memphis. I came in today and got the egg rolls for a change. They tortillas are always fried lightly and so crispy, you can count on the ingredients being fresh. The salsa and spicy ranch are so good you can dip anything in them but go perfect with the egg rolls. They might be an appetizer but it's plenty to fill you up.
I am giving a 5 because of Catering. Their taco bar is phenomenal. We get it for every party and it's always consistent and everyone always loves it.
A friend told me about this place and said I should give it a try. Well I stopped in for lunch and tried the Fish taco's. Taste of fish was just very basic, nothing to go back for, The sides were not good at all. The only thing not giving this place a lower score was the service. Staff was very nice and did a good job. The price of $17 for a lunch I did not enjoy, will keep me away.
Online order was placed unknowingly while location was closed on a Sunday (out of town resident unaware of closed on Sunday). Poplar Ave location is refusing to refund money although the order clearly was never made, received or picked up.. business was closed. Will Swankys no more. Still in the process of trying to obtain refund without having to recite entire credit card number over the phone to whomever at that location is continuously asking each time I call from 4 hours away.. I have email and receipt. Aweful experience.
The food is delicious and fresh, prices reasonable and the people nice. I highly recommend this place if you want to eat fresh food.
This was my first time eating here. The food was ok considering it looked as if it had been out there all day. Also, the restaurant was a bit dark - at first I thought they were closed.
Not all what i expected the display looked good i orederd 3 chicken egg rolls when i got them they had more corn in them than chicken mostly nothing!! Barely fried!!!!my fisrt visit mango salsa was chunked mango oinon and WUTEVA else waitress nice that's it!! 13$ waisted!!!
Service good and food was hot fresh. I'm really big on my food being hot. No complaints ?
