I had Kam's smothered pork chops, rice, green beans, candied yams and cornbread. It was delicious. The rice was cooked well and fluffy. The smothered chops were extremely tender and well seasoned. It was worth every dollar. Didn't mind the price increase at all. Quality of the food is what's important to customers. As always, I try to support locally owned businesses as much as I can.
I have been a satisfied customer for a long time until today. I ordered the fried chicken dinner. It comes with a breast and 2 wings. I opted for 2 breast instead. Had to pay a dollar extra for that. Order comes with 2 sides and cornbread. I waited in line 15 minutes to place order, waited another 30 minutes for food to be prepared. Well guess what? My chicken was pink inside. Of course it looked okay on the outside when I checked the container. So I am totally disappointed. I was charged 14.99 - for dinner merchant fee of 60cents( don’t know what that’s for) total with tax 18.59 cash. That’s a steep price for the only thing I could eat which was black eye peas, yams and cornbread.
I wanted fried catfish and home cooked vegetables. That’s exactly what I received. My wife had chicken tenders and home cooked vegetables too. They came with cornbread. Everything we ate was delicious. Friendly staff.
Never in my time living in The State of Tennessee, since 1998, have I ever been to this location. I do believe that my wife and I ate at a different location, but was many years ago. And I thought it was in the Raleigh neighborhood of Memphis. Meat loaf was on point. My wife has said everything we ordered was good, I don't eat Red Velvet Cake. Since she's been more sickly in her entire life. The only problem with the cake it had to much frosting. If it had been a Chocolate Cake, yellow inside. I'd bought two. Hoping to see A Southern Hands plate in front of me soon.
The girl had me wait too long just for some corn bread. She did that on purpose and check this out. The corn bread wasn't even good like it use to be. Don't have to worry not going to get my business. Just got a low tolerance for bad customer service.
I used to love this place. It seems to be going down a bit. I'm not sure why, but the prices increased and the quality decreased. My order was incorrect on my last visit. My cornbread was burnt, my yams were dry, and my fried chicken was kind of rubbery and not crispy like I'm used to.
I got a veggie plate and I was throughly satisfied. My bf got the smothered pork chops and he loved them. Will definitely go back!
Food is always good 5☆'s but service 0☆'s .... almost 35 minutes for an online order that was supposed to take 11 minutes.
The food and staff are amazing. If you haven't tried them yet you are missing out!
