The service and food was great. The restaurant was remodeled and looked amazing!! My family will definitely return very soon.
Everyone loves the croutons, of course. They’re slightly addictive. My favorite of the less obvious notables is their fried okra. Never greasy, always a perfect golden brown. Some folks don’t like the Worcestershirey marinade, but hey, if you don’t like it, ask them to leave it off or serve on the side…I think it’s great, equally good on steak or chicken. I prefer their new system of accepting reservations only. It means little or no wait, which was always a problem before the new owners took over. Bartlett is fortunate to have this little jewel of a restaurant. Food is consistently good. I’m grateful that the new owners saved it and made it even better!
My brother and I were pleasantly surprise by this family own restaurant. We had a salad with steak and it was very good. So we went the next night. My brother had the same thing, but I had salmon with vegetables and it was cooked perfectly.
As much as we wanted to love this place, it was not for us. Everything was great... The staff and our waitress, Reese, was amazing. Atmosphere was enjoyable. Didn't wait on anything, seated immediately. Prices were very reasonable. Our only problem was with the steaks. I know a lot of people love the taste of Worcestershire sauce, it just wasn't what we were looking for. The steaks looked great, cooked perfectly but tasted like 15 cents worth of Worcestershire sauce. We hope the new owners are very successful and will be around for a long time, but we will never go back. I still give it 4 out of 5 stars.
First off, I love this restaurant and have been coming here for years. There is definitely a LOT of good things to say about The Side Porch, like the service, the croutons, and the homemade Ranch dressing. The decor has been freshened up as well, and it feels very comfortable and cozy...the way a local restaurant should feel. So, why did I leave 3 stars? Well, if you're going to be a "steakhouse", you must get that part right, if nothing else. Unfortunately, the $29 Ribeye was thin, and of poor quality. I didn't mind the "Worcestershire" flavored marinade, as others have mentioned....it was really just the quality of cut. For $29, I'm not expecting Folks Folly or Flemings, but at least Texas Roadhouse. But it was not. It was tough, chewy, and just not good. That being said, everything else is so good, and the atmosphere and warm family-type feel will keep us coming back and supporting them. Thanks!

We had dinner with friends tonight for the first time since the restaurant was renovated by the new owners. The renovation is awesome and the place looks fabulous. We were glad to see the new owners pretty much kept things the same as far as the menu is concerned. They still use the same marinade for the steaks, chicken and pork. They still have the ever addicting croutons! The food was amazing and our server was excellent. So glad that The Side Porch will remain a staple in the Bartlett area. I implore those who gave bad reviews in the past to give it another try. You will not be disappointed. Keep in mind it is now reservations only and in my opinion well worth making one.
I went to Side Porch very recently with my wife, my youngest daughter, and my youngest granddaughter, who happens to be the same age as my youngest daughter. I hadn't been to Side Porch since the 90's and my experience then was lackluster at best. So my expectations weren't high when we decided to give it a go. We'll I'm happy to say my expectations were far exceeded. Everything was fantastic. My steak and shrimp were perfect. Even the salad dressing was delicious. My youngest daughter who at times is quite a picky eater, has asked to go back everyday since we visited. Not only was the food hre but so was the service. We felt very welcomed and attended to. The vibe in the entire packed restaurant was almost one of a huge family meal. This experience has my whole family taking about this being our new restaurant spot!

We went back to Side Porch for the first time in two years since COVID hit and we really loved the changes. They actually have bathrooms normal people can fit in now!!! The croutons were back and better than ever and the steaks were great. One thing I did notice was that the marinade was a little different than before. The difference was subtle but it was there. It was sweeter and was more like an actual steak sauce where as before it was more vinegary based. It used the be darker in color as well. The new marinade kind of tasted like Heinz 57 mixed with A1 and Dale's. It was still very good, just different. Overall, the experience was great, the staff was really hustling, and we will be back for sure. Also, kudos to the no wait times and the reservation system. That was fantastic!
