Good price for the lunchtime special. We were the first ones at lunch at 11 am and service was good but not as fast as it could have been. Good was good, but the presentation of cooking was no-frills. Probably because we were the only ones being cooked for. Not the cleanest looking place, but not enough to look gross, just aged. I doubt I'd pay full price here.

It was horrible. Never got a refill, i literally had to go looking around the restaurant with my empty glass and my kids empty glass because even after i asked the manager to find our server nobody showed after 20 minutes, the chef was not interactive at all, they messed up 3 people's order. My son ordered the kids shrimp and they gave the shrimp to someone who had ordered chicken. They gave somebody's steak to the wrong person and completely forgot my steak. We all waited 20 minutes, with to-go boxes filled, for our check which never arrived. I again had to go searching around to find somebody to give me my check so I could pay. I was also forced to pay an 18% automatic gratuity for HORRIBLE service, messed up orders, and a bad experience. The other two families we were seated with just left and i don't even blame them. Well never return... the manager didn't care about how everything was messed up and never even apologized.

This place is great and the chefs and servers are great and the owner is great. If there is any language barrier they have plenty of people to bridge that gap. This is the only place for dozens of miles that is doing Hibachi. No body else is doing it, despite the mandates being lifted. They are short staffed and they still continue to do hibachi and meet demands. Best steak, chicken, shrimp, salmon, and cocktails my family have had in ages. The sushi ia great too but we went a few nights ago and there was no sushi chef and we heard a couple complaining and I wanted to say “go make it yourself or go to Panda Express and shut up. Unless you want to go to school for it and. One get hired, don’t harass these workers.” My husband and I, and two other couples had hibachi and there were no complaints. I enjoyed my chicken, he enjoyed his steak and shrimp, the rice was phenomenal, and our chef and waitress were both amazing. Everybody at our hibachi table seemed happy. The chef was thrilling. He was also funny. Food was perfect, drinks were prompt even after being told they were short handed and after seeing how bish they were. I have not received service this good at any other restaurant in two years. It was well worth the money and the food was great and the experience was spectacular. Thank you Shogun and all workers. Our Sunday evening was excellent and also my little girls loved the edamame and they are very picky eaters.

It wasn't the normal level if service we are accustomed to. There was trash out front on the ground. When we walked in, there was a sign that said 45 to 50 min wait, but it didn't look busy. We were seated in 10 min. The food was prepared and tasted great but the preparation was basic as far as entertainment (no spatula, egg spinning or onion volcano). We had some weird, random "Sitting Fee" on our bill. I thought it was just a new charge, except that the people we shared a station with didn't have it on their bill. When I inquired about it, he said it was an accident and he would remove it. I gave my card to pay and he didn't remove it. He ended up giving me cash.

I have NEVER dealt with a restaurant that was so poorly run. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere, anywhere else. I used to spend a lot of money here. Mostly Togo but dining in also. The last few times my food has been awful!!! Awful. And that's if I was lucky. Majority of the time my calls are ignored. I will call call call you until I get off work to order Togo. No answer. Once I get off work I go by there 2hrs before closing time and I'm told oh no we closed. Excuse me..then change your hours to open when ever the hell we want to and close when we don't feel like serving our repeat customers anymore. If I could have given 0 stars I would have.

I would not recommend to eat at this place when I went their with my family they put what looked like butter but it was brown and the next day I could not eat anything and my stomach hurt and I ended up vomiting a lot so I would not recommend eating here.

Best Japanese steakhouse in Memphis, family night or date night it's awesome, and It has the best Chefs, way better than Benihanas

We love this place because it’s not super busy all the time. We absolutely LOVE the talented folks who cook hibachi, they’re sooo good w our kids.The wait staff is also so very kind even when they are busy and do a fantastic job. This place has quickly become one of our favorites.

Walked in for lunch and waited for 15 minutes walking around the lobby, the bar, the kitchen..... trying to find someone who worked there. There was only one table seated having lunch so they obviously weren't busy. When I finally got someone's attention he said the hostess would be right with me. 7 more minutes. The same guy came by and said it would be a 30 minute wait. I asked if we could count time served in that wait. Was told no so I left. Horrible lunch experience. Also, counted 4 cockroaches on the bar. Pretty sure 1 was still alive. Makes you wonder.

Went there for my daughter's Graduation dinner from College. We had reservations for 7. Got seated after 8. Took our orders and brought the drinks out shortly after. We waited another 30 to 40 minutes before we had to say something about at least could you bring us the salads and miss soup. They complied. Another 30 to 40 min they finally start to cook for our table plus another couple at another table. So the food that was prepared was for our party of 8 plus 2 from another table since it was only a one couple. That's fine. I don't think he brought out enough food for 10 people. I took only one pic of the noodles with vegetables. For 10 adults. But I digress. He finally finished cooking everyone's order. Let me say one person left because it was taking too long. Which we understood. I know this was long but I wanted to explain the 1 star. Longggg wait times and didn't prepare enough food for both tables. No, I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend.
