Called Union Ave store to order 4- 6 butterfly shrimp and 2 chicken strips which comes with small side, Gentleman told me that his manager said I had to come inside for this order, I get there a young lady came to door saying I needed to get in line because her cashier was on break get to speaker person was so low( now I'm seeing why it took so long for the customers with their orders) she quoted me around $36?? I reiterated that I wanted the $5 shrimp &chicken strips with the small side Get to window no sides, cashier tells me that will $2.99 extra for each side. Was not happy with this experience I love me some Popeyes ? Somebody had a Bad Day
Imagine... Imagine a chicken joint in the deep South that does not have french fries to offer. Now imagine a chicken joint where the only other side to offer is coleslaw. Also imagine paying $24 for it. Now, granted this is Memphis Tennessee and this place evidently to me anyway is not a good representative of a good service sector, at any rate.
The chicken just doesn't taste the same as Popeyes back home in Louisiana. They only take cash and you don't know until you get to the speaker. Why not put a sign at the entrance? The premises looks dirty. The vomit in the back has been there for weeks. See the pictures.
Today I sent my son in law to pick up a 2 wing meal with potatoes and gravy. When I received my meal my biscuit was as hard as a hockey puck and my potatoes had no gravy. I called the store multiple times to get no answer.I will be returning to the store to get a refund or a fresher meal if it takes me until 2023. This is what I got.
Needed to use exact change, no cards. My sandwich wasn't fresh, and had way too much batter on it. After removing 95% of batter, I could tell the chicken sandwich had been refried. I live about 8 minutes away, my sandwich wasn't hot nor warm when I got home.
I am from Louisiana and I have never eaten at a Popeyes that was so bland and not full of spice UNTIL I ate here. The mash potatoes was watery and the red beans had a sour smell to them. I threw them (red beans) away. I spent my money so I ate the chicken only. I will not being going back there. Unfortunately, I do not think any Popeyes will be better than back home but I at least want it to be decent. Now the cashier that checked me out was pleasant and nice. Other than that the crew look like they were scrambled and I believe one of the employees had there kid at work with her. So I applaud her for showing up to work to provide for her family. Kudos to them.
Pulled up, parked, walked up to door, workers lounging on seating, ignored us, the door was locked. We seen Aman walk in the other side of building. Now why couldn't them workers open the door or at least tell us to go to other door? We walk around building to get in and see the same lounging workers open the locked door and let a man out. WHAT? There were many workers there and not one of them greater us. We stood there for quite some time before a lady from behind the counter says, we only taking on line orders. But you can go threw drive through. Ok, we go threw drive threw, get our food, go to our motel, go to eat and it was horrible! My meat was mostly over fried batter! Beans and rice tasted like vinegar. Horrible place,rude workers, lazy workers!!!
The food is always good. The only thing was the line they you to wait in, only to get ready to order and there was a sign on the box that it was cash only. I had planned to you my card but luckily I had some cash. Others got to the window and had to leave and this was after the long wait in line.
Asked for #10 and which is spicy and got regular sandwich...and drove away so didn't notice. They didn't take credit cards? Uggh
The chicken was dry and the wings were very small and a couple of items were left off. The chicken sandwich was really good, that would be the only reason that I would go there again. This was the first time I'd ever been to Popeyes, I doubt if I'll be going back.
