I would put no stars if i could.Came into the restaurant and was left waiting for 10 minutes. The workers saw us and left us there waiting. Once we were seated no one attended us. This man came by and asked us “Has nobody been with you yet” and we frankly replied No. Our waiter finally arrived and when i asked for a drink they told me they didn’t have any so i asked for a different and again they didn’t have it. We had about three different waiters and before we got the final one we were neglected the whole time. The waiter took one of my friends menu and gave it to another table. Later one the waiter looked at him funny because it seemed like my friend “hid” or “stole” the menu. They also gave my other friend WATER DOWNED SPRITE. Absolutely disgusting. They told us we were delusional when we told them it was watered down. i personally just didn’t like the food . menu needs more variety.
Went for lunch, it wasn't too loud. Wasn't too crowded, so you got a seat quickly. The staff were all kind and available when needed. Prices were very reasonable. The food itself was amazing. Rice and beans are staples and i don't think I've ever had better. I also got a quesadilla, solid choice for those not wanting anything too fancy with the flavors- basic but very good. The tamales ? simply divine. Would definitely recommend for a good sit-down meal with authentic flavors.
Four of us stopped by for lunch. Had not been there for a couple of years. Gratified that both the service and the food was still excellent!Wait staff was attentive and prompt with both service, appetizers and main courses as well as their smiles. Bien hecho mis amigos!
This was my first time dining here. I took my team out for a team builder, and we had an amazing time.. The food was so good, the atmosphere was amazing, and our server Pachio (I know I didn't spell that correct ?) was amazing. The owner of this place is so nice. My team and I will definitely be going back.
Service was great and the atmosphere was good. The only complaint was I ordered a medium cooked steak and it was purple in the middle....and extremely thin! It looked like they laid it on the grill for 30 seconds on each side to brown the outside, but never got any heat to the middle. The flavor was good tho.

Definitively not the quality expected. I ordered 4 tacos and the tortillas were cold as well as the azada meat. It took a long time to get my order also. Worse quality i have experience.
We have been going to LaPlayita for years. Always good food and hit or miss service. Better to go during the week during off hours when it isn’t busy and avoid weekends - especially Sundays at any time of day when they are crowded with large families and service is very slow. We have stopped going on weekend altogether. Was there a few weeks ago for lunch and food and service was good. Returned there today for a late lunch and service was so so - my order was wrong and the beans and rice were cold. My order was quickly corrected. Server never returned to table for drink refills until she brought the check as we were ready to leave. There is a new sign at the cash register saying prices quoted on the menu is cash only prices and if you pay by credit card they will add an additional 3.5% to your bill. If you add a tip to the bill to be put on your card, they add the 3.5% to it as well. We have never seen this at any restaurant before, so credit card paying customers need to be aware or be prepared to pay in cash.
First time for me and my wife.. passing through in a semi truck (otr truck drivers) hands down best Mexican restaurant we've ever had!! There salsa is to die for and everything was awesome!! Highly recommend this place
Friendly staff. Quick service. Margarita seemed weak and no sour cream. Food was great but wish salsa was less overwhelmed by onion and a little spicier. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.
