Great place to hang good people at People's
Walking down Beale St. looking to kill some time on a Wednesday night, we happened upon this billiards hall and had a great time playing pool for an hour ($10/hr). There was no pressure to buy drinks (the place was empty around 8:00pm), there was no cover charge and we had the place to ourselves. The IPA on tap was perhaps the worst I've ever had in my life and I don't recommend it but a bottled beer might be a winner. The ambience was nice and the photos on the wall were a great touch.

Tried to walk in Sunday night for karaoke when I was told it's 5 to enter. Not a big deal, but I'd just been asked for that from like 3 homeless people. So I asked if I could see the bartender to ask about the cover and was told I could leave.Then this guy's friend started chiming in and it felt more like extortion than a door charge. They both had drinks and cigarettes and just looked like bar patrons. They refused to let me speak with an employee so I left and spent my 200 dollars elsewhere.The place seemed cool and they had karaoke which is why I threw on an extra star but why post this guy at the door without even a shirt with the business name on it? I don't know if the owners know how much business is getting turned away because of this guy's fragile ego.
