A Memphis classic that is still as good as ever.
For such an elegant restaurant Pauletteâs is not at all stuffy. Matt, our server, was so pleasant, didnât hover, and was helpful in making recommendations. Weâre going back soon for the shrimp and grits. Excellent!
Iâve eaten at Pauletteâs in the past and it has always been good. But, my visit on yesterday was exceptionally good. The food was excellent. It was served âhot off the stoveâ. There were two in my party. There were 10 at the next table. I noted that all of them were served at the same time and there food was steaming hot as well. I commend the chef for pulling off this feat. Best meal I have had in a long while.
Great customer service and environment; however, the food wasnât very good.
Great view, food and service
Been a fan of Pauletteâs for over 40 years, and returned during a visit to Memphis. The restaurant has lost most of its uniqueness, and has become yet another high-priced steak, lamb, fish place offered by most âAmericanâ menus. Whereâs the French influence (besides the popovers which were the only hit of the evening)? The cheese plate resembled a Kroger run, my salmon was good but everything else accompanying was not. The crepe dessert, the only crepe on the menu (huh?) was average. What a shame that such an institution has lost its identity. Maybe that is the reason half the tables were empty. Find your 80âs roots and start again.
Our server, Evan, was excellent. The portions were small. The salmon in my pasta dish was barely visible. The peaches in my dessert crepe were hard and not ripe at all. The soup and salads were very good.
The three course, fixed price Monday special was terrific!
Wonderful brunch! We had not visited in awhile but reminded us how good it is!
Had a delicious shrimp and grits dish with a Smokey flavor. Ate every bite. Friend had lamb chops that she said were wonderful. Also enjoyed the pop-overs with strawberry butter and an excellent Mojito.
