I’ve been coming here for years. They lost out when John left. But props on his new career. Don’t see Jordan near as much and those two guys are awesome at what they did. They made this place feel like home to me. It’s a secluded group that hangs here and that work here. If you’re not community you’re not treated or respected as such. This will be my last time coming here and I loved this place.
Wonderful place. Small mocha with soy milk was spendid, and the shoppe has beautiful beaded keychains and patterned notebooks. I wish they stayed open until 5, but thats a personal hope for the future. The seating is also amazing- there are so many comfortable places to work or relax- in the back they have low, comfy cushioned chairs that sink. Amazing place to meditate.
A chic, and hip coffee place to spend time. I took out my morning coffee and bagel. But next time I’m gonna chill here with my laptop. They have plenty of seats both inside and outside. They have a cute hippie themed gift shop as well. Their menu looks good. The coffee was great. Mocha is not good everywhere, but here they get it right. They took a little long time to toast a bagel. However, the jalapeño cheddar bagel was fine. Overall, I can’t wait to go back.Google map says, that they are open until 8 pm, which is not true. They close at 3 pm.
I was really hopeful that with some of the backlash that Otherlands had received over the last couple years that it might have been better. I was unfortunately too optimistic. I got a cold brew and it was, fine I guess? Nothing bad but nothing great either. Unfortunately, the sweet roll I got was so stale to the point of being inedible. Then I noticed that it was marked as 3/23, and I visited on 3/28. Whether that meant it was made on 3/23 or it was supposed to be discarded 3/23 I'm not sure. All I know is that it wasnt good. With the rise in quality of different coffee shops in Memphis, I was really let down to see that Otherlands was still just not a pleasant experience.
Food safety is apparently still an issue. we got sold pastries that were hard as a rock, and then we saw the label and they had been expired for 3 days. And when I came here before, I saw the barista on bar in a tank top scratch his armpit and continue to make drinks without washing his hands. The coffee and food were good but I just don't trust it when I see them break health codes.
It took at least 20 minutes to get my coffee order. They were slammed on a Sunday morning. There were at least 10 orders ahead of mine. Seating was plentiful inside and decor was eclectic. Coffee was okay.
Great spot! I love cortados. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a well-made one. But Otherlands here it right. We were on a schedule, so we picked up croissants to go with our coffees. (Meh.) However, the cooked food that walked by looked tasty, definitely worth trying. We had our pup with us, so we sat in the backyard/deck area. Super relaxing.
Food is excellent and atmosphere is chill. We really enjoyed sitting by the windows and chatting while enjoying our got chocolates and food.
Otherlands is one of my favorite coffee shops. I often do my workday here when I’m remote. Their Wi-Fi is great, tea and cakes are perfect, and lunch is delicious. The outdoor patio is spacious and dog friendly.
I like Otherlands but I wish they had more vegan options.Great atmosphere, fun patio, perfect location.
