Used to love coming here but I don't think I'll be back. We went a couple weeks ago and there was a hair in our pretzel bites. Asked for the manager just to let her know because we could tell by the unique color and length (and the fact that she was in the kitchen with no hat, no ponytail- not ServSafe) that it was hers. Ordered dinner last night and there was the same color and length hair in my pizza and in one of our cookies. Disappointing especially that it's a manager and that it's happened multiple times.
Pizza was delicious! Only gave 3 stars because the service is terrible. Went in on a Sunday afternoon. Seemed very slow as to there were only 2 other tables occupied and a few people at the bar....plenty of employees were on duty joking around. Greeted and seated immediately, we ordered 3 small pizzas and an appetizer and waited an hour and a half before we asked about when we would receive the pizzas. Waitress replied that she thought we had them and would go check. After a few 'checks' the manager approached, apologized and stated that they were in the oven at that moment. Although pizzas were good, its definitely not worth the wait time. Manager did discount the ticket by removing the sodas...
Employees are working very hard to give great service and food came out awesome as always. My husband has to eat gluten free so the pizza here is a great option for him. Thank you mellow mushroom!
Such a waste of our only night in Memphis. We waited 20minutes to be seated initially which was odd because most tables were empty but that was fine. Then we waited another 10-15minutes for water. Two waitresses came up to us and asked us if anyone had helped us yet. Once we finally got someone they began taking our order and then had to walk off because she didn’t have a notepad to write it down. Finally our waitress came. One of us ordered the avocado hoagie- which not only came out before our pretzel appetizer. It came out LONG before our pretzels. We truly could have got a better sandwich from subway. When the pretzels arrived well over an hour later after the sandwich they were not only made incorrectly (parm instead of salt) they were burnt! No point in mentioning it and waiting another 1.5hours for more pretzels. Mind you we have been at the Mellow Mushroom in Myrtle Beach so we know how good these pretzels are supposed to be. Asked for a marinara that we received at least 20minutes later. Received our two small pizzas another 30+minutes after the pretzels And one was made incorrectly without avocado, marinara, or pineapple as it was ordered. And when they charge per ingredient this is unacceptable. After waiting 2hours for our pizza there was no chance we were going to send it back. Worst part of it too was watching parties arriving long after us all receive their food first. We sat without water for over 40minutes. Our waitress never noticed any of our dishes were incorrect, apologized for wait time, or was prompt about literally anything in the dining experience. I could have just blamed the kitchen staff for incorrect food but when it came to the receipt the order for the pizza was incorrect. The total was $62.45. Gave the waitress $25.45 and said to put the rest on the card. The bill should have come back at $37.00 … it came back at $37.21. She didn’t notice and I asked her about it and she said she didn’t know what happened. 2.5hours for a low quality dinner and too much of our time wasted. We were beyond disappointed and we will never be back.
I’ll start by saying I like their pizza and will get it delivered when possible. But the restaurant is terrible. Waited 1.5 hours for pizza, came to table cold, so it had been sitting for a while. Not blaming wait staff for that, but they didn’t even come by and fill half empty water glasses. My guess she was embarrassed by the wait and didn’t want to come to the table. This is second time we have been there and had bad experience. First time we never got waited on at all and we wound up leaving after 20 minutes of no one coming to the table. Stick with delivery of take out.
Mellow Mushroom is a great pizza place in the heart of East Memphis. With an open dining room area that allows you to watch your food get prepped and cooked in a dazzling array of massive ovens! They Boast a great selection of toppings and other dishes, sure to satisfy event the pickiest eater. Mellow Mushroom will make for the perfect spot for a celebration dinner, or a night out with friends.
Our family went back for the second time just like we said we would and had such a great experience ❤ The general manager was so sweet and kind to us just like our first visit ☺ and the pizza was amazing! This time I ordered the vegetable pizza and it was so delicious especially with the ranch dip! Yummy! If I could rate it higher, I would! If you think about going here, please do not hesitate. You will enjoy your experience here ? We will back again!
Great atmosphere and pizza
Danielle was my server, she was new and learning but didn't tell me the specials (which lost her a sale), was very soft spoken and hard to hear, and when she delivered our pizza it was missing a main ingredient- when I pointed out it was missing- mind you a med. 6 slice pizza was almost $25- they threw it on and tossed it back in the oven not giving the ingredient time to cook and blend with the others on the pizza.....I spoke with a manager who quickly resolved the issue!!!Keysia (unsure of spelling!) delivered my pizza to the table and began checking on my family' this young woman was by one of the BEST servers I have ever had!!! She should be the trainer for this company, she deserves a raise, and other companies should be looking out to get her on their team!! She is absolutely amazing!!
