I can’t really say anything good about this place other than the band tried. The place is very smelly of stale cigarettes. They had no ginger ale and then uncharged $1.50 to substitute ginger beer. The bathroom ceiling has caved in. If they had cheap drinks it might be worth it but a beer and a cocktail (with ginger beer ?) was $20.

Worst service ever. Arrived & was told to seat myself as it was 1/2 full. Ordered drink & appetizer. Drinks arrived promptly. Waited another 40 minutes with no appetizer or waitress. Finally asked to order entree & she told us to wait as they were backed up. Couple next to us had waited 1 hour for a chicken salad. Paid for the drink & left.Do yourself a favor, do not waste your time coming here like I just did.

Cannot rate a Zero, so it is 1. Arrived @ 6:15pm on a Friday & was told to sit anywhere as the place was 1/2 full. Fairly prompt service & ordered drinks and appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes. Drinks arrived soon after. That was where it went south. Waited 40 minutes & no appetizer, no waitress. Finally the waitress came by. We attempted to place our order & she told us that we should wait, as they were backed up. The couple next to us told us that they had waited 1 hour for a chicken salad. At that time after 45 minutes with no food, I asked for the drinks bill, paid & left. Have to rate the food as Zero, as we wasted 45 minutes without eating anything. Worst service that I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Can’t blame this on Covid, just no coordination between kitchen & front or front & paying customer. Leave this off your list when in Memphis.

Went there for lunch on a Tuesday and had the best service. The food was delicious but I have to give my shout out to the server. He was so friendly and helpful with food choices. To top it off he came and tracked me down as I was walking down the street after I left my clutch. I wish I would have gotten his name. I'll be back and recommend others!

Great food, lovely staff! I had the Cajun Grilled Chicken Pasta - it’s was a plate full, and just the right amount of spicy. My husband had the BBQ Platter with pulled pork, wet ribs, and voodoo potatoes - the meat was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful flavor.

King's Palace Cafe is a neat restaurant on Beale Street. It offers a great variety of foods and drinks. The service was great! We were served in a matter of ten minutes with food steaming on our plates. On certain nights, they have live music. King's Palace Cafe was an amazing experience and a great place to take your family!

In 2014, I ate at this restaurant and for the longest time, couldn't remember the name. Then, I saw the archives of comments from my business website because I told a customer where I ate at. The Cajun chicken pasta was so delicious. Yes, a bit too spicy at times (thankfully, I had a lot pop to help my mouth cool off). But if I ever come back to Memphis, this is the place I'm going to eat at.

The service was great but the food was disappointing. I order the parmesan pasta with sausage, extra small salad shrimp, and chicken. It was $22. For $22 a dish should not come with salad shrimp. I asked before i ordered was the shrimp deveined and was told yes. They were not. I paid for the food and gave it away.

We ordered the King’s Feast. It was a lot of food. The ribs were very tough and still attached to the tendon. Good flavor, but be prepared to bring your own knife and gnaw on your whole rack of ribs. voodoo potatoes were literally a baked potato dumped out of the skin with no seasoning. Gumbo was 5/5 stars. Fantastic. The complimentary bread was hard and unflavored minus the weird 5 strands of hard cheese on top. Pork shoulder was 4/5, but a little over cooked… dry. Quick service, but the waitress did not return to our table for refills. Literally only one other table with customers in the restaurant when we were there, and it was 1230.The bathroom was so poorly lit I had to use my phone light. It was in serious need of cleaning and repair. Ceiling tiles were missing, water spots down the walls, and overflowing toilet.

The food and music is great. Though they advertise their gumbo (which is mildly spicy and delicious), their BBQ ribs and pulled pork is amazing. Don't forget to start with some fried green tomatoes! Oh - and save room for the pecan pie, if you can.
