The absolute and only reason to journey into the toilet that downtown Memphis has become, would be to visit this little oasis of Olympus! Seriously, Mount Olympus, home of the Great Greek Gods HAS to smell just like this amazing restaurant! The atmosphere is wonderful, (if a bit busy) and the food is FANTASTIC! I was hoping for some truly good food, which is surprisingly hard to find in this town, and when my son mentioned this place, I wanted to try it. True, the location was a total turn off, 412 South Main street. We'll, I strapped on three different pistols, and we entered the "no go" zone. It might just be worth taking a bullet in this war zone for the very good food of this fine restaurant! Affordable and delicious! Pictures included!
Really tasty and very fresh and delicious. The little spherical white cookie was less than stellar, but everything else was excellent. Kinda high at $20 for lunch, but worth it
Great lamb sliders. Nice light snack in a convenient location.
Everything, I do mean everything is delicious here!! I go several times a month. Easy take out, you can get large portions for party's. Very nice girls up front too.
We had just left the National Civil Rights Museum and needed to eat a late lunch. Walking by The Grecian Gourmet, we decided to try it out since we're big fans of Mediterranean food. We each had a Greek salad, Baba Ghanoush, "Feta dip", and Baklava--all generous proportions requiring take-home boxes. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had a chance to speak to the owner who told us the recipes were her mother's. By pure happenstance, we stumbled into a remarkable little restaurant that we will definitely return to on our next trip to Memphis!
The restaurant was chosen based on the reviews. My orders were SPANAKOPITA, and MOUSSAKA and have same taste ingredients. GYRO BOWL, LAMB SLIDERS the meat has same taste, same ingredients. PITA CHIP BOWLY the bread was not fresh, Hummus was good but TABBOULEH odd taste. From my knowledge about Greek restaurants they are creative, this exceeded my expectations. Fortunately for me, there are outside seating because the restaurant inside smells not good and needs ventilation.
Ordered a to-go Chicken Gyro Wrap on my way through Memphis. The wrap was too dry and the tzatziki sauce was very very dry. I have had Gyro wraps before but this one was bone dry.Edit: I previously (3 months ago) gave a 1 star review but I have updated it since then to 2 stars remembering the wrap altogether wasn't that bad but like I said, it was very very dry. I would love to try their food when I am passing through Memphis again.
The sangria and Greek nachos are fantastic! The seasoning on the pita chips and the light & crunchy flavor are can’t miss!
