Generous portions and delicious food! Excellent service and homey atmosphere. We tried the pulled pork sandwich, BBQ quesadilla, & fish taco. All were very good!
Cute little BBQ shack!! The Salty Dog is really good and the sweet tea is perfect. They even had someone singing out front! Bonus, they have a stand of jams, salsas, preserves, etc.
Great food. Get there before lunch rush because it’s a popular place. Ask Omar for his recommendations. He won’t steer you wrong. Elwoods is a ‘must go’ for me every time I’m in Memphis
I was told about Elwood's Shack. a month ago and how good the food is and that is the truth. Today family members and I went to Elwood for lunch and the food was just as great as the reviews said and pictures show it is. We will most definitely be returning soon. We individually ordered the Salmon salad, smoked jerk chicken wings, beef brisket salad and beef brisket sandwich.
First visit but won't be the last. Got the patty melt and it was delicious. I love a good burger and this did not disappoint. Only thing I didn't care for is that I got choked up from going on the inside. Not sure if it's like this always the the smell of smoke (from them cooking) was way overwhelming towards the counter area. Not sure if the inside dining area Not located too far from the counter was the same because I picked up to go
Food & service were great. Place could use a good scrub down, bottom 6" of everything is pretty grubby,, floor probably hasn't seen a mop in years.... but what do you expect from a place with "shack" in its name?? You knew the assignment was dangerous when you took it.... it is what it is. ?? Will stop in again next time I'm in the area.
This site had a variety of menu item. The food was delicious! I had a great shrimp Taco. Their food was fresh and taste good. I recommend this site.
Had lunch at Elwood’s today. Mushroom Swiss burger was awesome. Also had potato salad. It was very good also. Sister had the French Dip and a friend had the brisket sandwich with blue cheese. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We sat outside on a picnic table under the porch. Highly recommend.
We stopped through Memphis on our way back home, and we wanted to try the famous Memphis BBQ. We came to the right place! My husband and I split the "Shack Attack". The best ribs I've ever eaten, hands down. Fell off the bone as soon as we picked it up; no knife or fork needed. The wet BBQ sauce was so flavorful. The brisket and pork and chicken were great as well. The beans had amazing flavor as well; literally everything was AMAZING AND DELICIOUS. Service was kind, down to earth, and great as well! 1000/10 recommend!!!!
Definitely a hidden gem! Glad to have stumbled upon it while traveling through! They had outside dining if you have your dogs. This is a must-stop if you’re in Memphis!
