While visiting Memphis, a friend of mine recommended I try out El Sabor Latino. I went in not expecting much but was absolutely blown away. The restaurant gave such a home kind of feel, with the voices of people chatting and laughing about, as well as a soft touch of salsa music playing on the overhead speakers. I was a bit unsure on what to get and asked one of the employees what they recommended. Little did I know that the kind employee I spoke to was actually the owner herself. She broke down some of her favorite dishes on the menu and we ultimately decided that the Bandeja Paisa. A dish that’s fully loaded with steak, chorizo, chicharrón, arepa, rice, avocado, plantains, and beans. Yes a mountain of food all on one plate, I even got a couple of empanadas on the side and I wouldn’t be exaggerating when I tell you that they are the best empanadas I’ve ever had. The dish itself was perfect, the steak was well seasoned and cooked just right, the chorizo and chicharron were filled with flavor, and the rice was done just right. A strong 10/10 and will be visiting again soon!

Sabor Latino catered food for the event we had at the University of Memphis. They gave us their specialty empanadas and colombian arepas. They definitely have some of the best colombian food in the Memphis area. Judy, the manager, was so kind and generous. She gave us all our food on time. Jugos de mora are my personal favorite. Go eat here for some authentic colombian food.

Upon entering you’ll receive a warm welcome from the owners, Samir and Yuri and the rest of their friendly staff. El Sabor Latino offers a wide variety of Colombian dishes, such as Bandeja Paisa, Carne Asada, Empandas and a wonderful soup that changes each day. I would strongly recommend the family owned restaurant to anyone craving a homemade style dish straight out of Colombia. An absolute 10/10!!
