We were in Memphis in November of 2021, and Crazy Gander was just around the corner from our hotel. I usually just run to Starbs in an unfamiliar city—hey, you know what you’re getting—but the nearest location was 6 blocks away and I can’t navigate my own neighborhood without hot magic bean juice. The coffee was great, and the staff and owner were spectacular. Super-friendly, funny, and happy to share recs for restaurants and points of interest that weren’t too tourist-y. I can’t recommend this place enough (did I mention the free shortbread cookie that’s served with a side of Memphis history?) Veteran-owned, too.
Friendly staff who go above and beyond. Coffee and pastries are delicious. This is my new go-to spot when I’m in town.
Seemed like a newish coffee place. Staff were super nice, and the coffee was very good. They didn't have a ton of food options, but what we tried was good. Not spectacular but perfectly fine. It felt like they're new and are still finding what makes sense for them business wise, but hey - the place is nicely decorated and my experience was quite good.
Highly recommend! Bucktown coffee was such a unique coffee with the perfect amount of sweet andspicy. Not to mention their baked cookies we got were amazing!! Super nice barista and atmosphere as well. Will definitely be back?
I have been eyeing this spot for a couple of months it was on my list of top places to visit.. I was not disappointed, I purposefully asked the young lady what would she recommend like I’m a novice to coffee.. She gave me a run down of various things and told me what was in season and I went for it! She was helpful, VERY friendly and made my coffee to perfection.. I highly recommend them and I LOVE the layout of the location.. You will not be disappointed!!
My wife and I were traveling through Memphis on a longer road trip, found this place on Google Reviews and stopped off for a pit stop with our dog. Turns out with holiday hours they were closed today, but we caught Kevin the owner right as he was taking his own dog out for a walk. He generously invited us in and made us two delicious lattes. He also gave our dog a pup-cup of whipped cream! Super chill and friendly vibes. We laughed out loud at how good the coffee was too, just amazing.Clearly this guy is going above and beyond to make a small biz work. We will look forward to stopping through on every trip through Memphis.
Honestly, the coffee here is great! Fav place in downtown ?☕️hopefully they stay great because many coffee places start great and end up no good.
My girlfriend and I are from Indianapolis and got to experience this wonderful coffee shop on our stay here. Fantastic drinks and amazing, friendly staff. We got to talk with one of the owners and really enjoyed meeting him and hearing about his most excellent co-owner. This is a newer business and definitely worth checking out if you’re ever in the Memphis area!
newly opened shop in memphis and absolutely killing the game - a morning coffee date with my love . first customers of the day . we also got to talk with the staff and owner [ minus his better half ] - and help taste the test shots . a perfect experience and a DELICIOUS black eye .thank you !!
Just stopped by this cute little coffee place. I ordered my forever favorite iced mocha, where as my friend took a cold brew. The coffee was decent. I cannot restrained myself from grabbing a slice of chocolate babka. They had a few baked goodies, which all they outsource.
