Food was ok, but not great. I called ahead and placed an order of pork fried rice to carry out. I was told that they didn't have any pork???? So I said chicken fried rice would be fine. I was surprised when I walked in the door and saw that the dining room looked rather dingy. It has been years since I had been there as my wife usually picks up the orders. My memories of a brightly decorative dining room with table cloths and flowers, bustling with customers and waiters we're crushed. When! I got home and looked at my order, it looked rather sad. There were no green peas or carrots in the rice. However, one bright spot were the spring rolls with the Chinese mustard standard at all restaurants serving Chinese were good, but I suspect that the spring roll just came out of a box where they had been delivered frozen by a local food distributor. Oh, well, all things must pass.
The original owner died and his wife and kids sold the restaurant. The new owner assumed the name. I lived in the area for 22 years and frequently visited the restaurant. The food was very good and fresh. They gave you a lot for a reasonable price. Stopped by to try the food from the new owner and it was horrible!!! Very bland, small portions, just awful. The beef broccoli was terrible! The sauce was watery and the rice was old! So don’t waste your money, go somewhere else!!!!

Not as good as it was before the new owners took over.Prices went up & the food is not the same quality.They need to go to the original recipe & menu.This new stuff is not good.Time to look for a new place after 20plus years of going

Owner have changed so the food and the taste plus prices went up.Last time I went, I noticed New faces So I wasn’t sure if I wanted to order but i went ahead and made the order same thing I have been always getting, salted baked shrimp with fried rice and teriyaki chicken , I figured maybe the food and the cooks were still the same but I was wrong, that food they gave me was terrible and tasted really bad and looked different.It is really sad to see this place going down.I have been going there for the past 20 years drive all the way from Bartlett.I will definitely miss the old China house!
Owners have changed and so has the Menu and taste. Prices have gone up too. Going to miss one of my favorite chinese place. Was that even chicken. We need North China restaurant back in Memphis
Some of the best Chinese food in Memphis. They always answer the phone too. Highly recommend.
Awful...I should of known when a place not packed during lunch time...RUN.. I broke the so called egg rolls in half and just looked inside of it and knew my stomach wasnt ready for that. I will not be back.. customer service okay but the food..NOOOPE!!
