we went to the location on central av the food was FABULOUS and the service was FABULOUS !!! if we are ever in town from Mobile Alabama again we will be back ? Thank you Central BBQ WE♥️YOU ?? 10 out of 10 would recommend !!
Went to eat here on last evening of our stay in Memphis. Short wait to place order. The wings are whole and comes in an order of 3. We ordered the dry rub and it was very flavorful. We also had the pulled pork nachos which was hard to see the chips below since there was so much meat on top! Nice surprise! It was an easy 6 block walk south of Beale Street which made it a more relaxed atmosphere than any of the restaurants on Beale street but equally as good. The Lorraine motel and Civil Rights Museum is just a block to the west! Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Would definitely stop there again when visiting Memphis.
Disappointed in Central on Central. Been a customer for many years and the last two visits were very unsatisfying. One was a dine-in experience where the service was poor and ribs just okay. Yesterday, I picked up a full slab of ribs that cost 25% more than it did nine months ago and was only ten ribs instead of normal 12. In sharing my experience with friends, several had similar opinions about the decline of this store. Don't expect to go back until I hear through the grapevine that they have given Central on Central the attention it needs to offer the experience long-term customers had come to expect.
Decided to have BBQ on my last night in Memphis. The two staff members I met, one may have been a manager/owner, were super sweet and helpful. The ribs and pulled pork were delicious! And the guy was right, you really don’t need sauce, the ribs were awesome as is! I’ll be back in a year for more!
Had the Regular Brisket Sandwich with Slaw. And it was very good, tender brisket and good cole slaw. Also had the Pulled Pork Plate with Mac N Cheese and Green Beans, side portions were a bit smaller than a dinner plate should come with but nice use of seasoning on top of the Mac. The Pulled Pork was very tender and delicious and the mild sauce had a very nice taste to it as well. It was busy and seating is VERY LIMITED but the food and quality are very positive.
I went with coworkers. The BBQ was excellent. Good portions. Fast & friendly service. To my surprise, they had gluten free and vegetarian options. I had a portobello mushroom salad. It was delicious!
Definitely worth the wait in line. The meat and local brews were so good. The staff is friendly. It is a busy place but has plenty of seats. I preferred the pulled pork. My husband had that and ribs and brisket. He didn't care for the brisket but said the ribs were good. Y'all gotta go here when in Memphis
the long line wait was so worth it! Best ribs I ever had! Fun atmosphere, open room with long tables, great beer selection.
Memphis is a little shaky, once you get off Beale Street. We had plenty of time before our flight on the way to the airport. Couldn't find a decent restaurant within a 10 minute drive. My son pulled up this BBQ joint!!! Wow, did we hit the jackpot. Great food, incredible and friendly serve. parking appears to be tight from what we saw.. and bathrooms were out of order!!! Check it out!!!
BBQ on the go! Wet ribs and gold wings were great. Pork nacho would had been better if no wet cheese and just did the shredded. Slaw and beans were meh. Cornmeal cake was…. I’m really not sure I never tasted anything like it my mouth is still trying to decide!!
