Very disappointed. We had eaten at this Cafe before and were looking forward to eating there again. However the quality of the food has drastically declined. The ribs so dried out they were inedible. When this was brought to our servers attention she did absolutely nothing to rectify the problem. We paid full price and left. We will not ever return
On Beale street and obviously for tourists but it was excellent. Portions are very big, they serve beer and the food was out fast despite being busy.
A traditional American diner opposite BB King’s on Beale Street. The decor looks a bit tired but service was friendly and menu perfect for breakfast. I had a full rack of ribs and they tasted good.
Busy! Staff was super accommodating with our wheelchair. Tables were close enough to meet your neighbors. Fun place.
Me and my husband got the ribs and catfish and It was delicious the ribs fell off the bone and the catfish was delicious. I also had the gumbo and it was amazing.
Overrated. Mediocre ribs and limited menu choice. Didn’t live up to the hype. Wish we’d gone to the rib joint across the street.
Had the 'Best meal on Beale' from the menu, and yes it was! Best ribs in Memphis by far. The catfish was delicious too. So far our favourite meal in Memphis.
Food was excellent & priced well. It was a very busy Sunday Night with tons of people in the area. With so many people the service was quick, the food, entree & sides, were great.
5/4/22: Visiting from Dallas, TX. First time here. Tasha was a great hostess. We had the "Best Meal on Beale", which was plenty for two people. The sweet tea was pretty good and the draft beer was cold. This has a diner, down home feel. We saw some of the staff interact with regular customers, and it was a good vibe.
We got the ribs and catfish, and both were excellent. I was very impressed that they have fresh cut French fries something I've not found much of in Memphis. I was even more surprised they gave enough of a hoot about their hot sauce eating customers to have Tabasco on hand. The line was long, but the food came out quick once we were seated. I was very impressed with the baked beans. They tasted identical to the ones at Gus's Fried Chicken, and it don't get any better than that. The cold slaw was good but not the best and certainly not the worse I've eaten int he past two days. If you want to eat on Beale don't bother with the bars this is the place you want to go to.
