Food was amazing. The restaurant is beautiful decorated and inviting, but the service was less than desirable. Our food came relatively quickly and looked amazing (see picture) but our waiter was less than attentive, and seemed to more interested in showing off his nails (which were beautiful) so he forgot my gumbo and we had to call for him several times for times. At the end of our meal I ordered some beignets, and when they brought them they were extremely some and over cooked. Overall impression was good food, nice atmosphere, but if you are going to include a mandatory 20% tip, make sure the service is worth it.
Food was superb, as was the staff. Highly suggest!
I had a great experience at Ben Yays. The customer service & food was awesome! If you’re into Cajun and New Orleans style food it’s a must you try. I had the Dejavu Special Fried catfish topped with crawfish etouffee and pimento cheese grits (I hate grits by the way), but it Recommended by our waiter. Omg, it was so good! I give it ?????.
Ordered take-out last night and my experience wasn't great. While the actual beignets were fresh, hot and tasty, that's about the only thing that was good about my experience. First, the Delmonico Steak on the facebook and website menu states $30, however, it's actually $40. SURPRISE! Second, I had the fried calamari, which was literally cold–tasted like day-old leftovers. I ate about two of them and tossed the rest. Thirdly, I had a fried shrimp po-boy, which had plenty of shrimp, however the bread was very stale, so I ended up eating part of a deconstructed po-boy. Not satisfying at all. To top it off, there was a pre-added tip to my bill–BUYER BEWARE! Sorry, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Not fresh food, items not priced as menu states, pre-added tip tricks. No thank you. ☹️
Food is great. Bar is small. Music was loud rap. I enjoyed it but wasn’t a theme restaurant as I expected. But again - food was awesome!
If you were to pass by it on the street, the place wouldn't look like it was open. But, once you walk in, you are transported to old New Orleans with a dimly lit atmosphere highlighted by some music in the background. The menu features Cajun fare and is very good. I found the gumbo to be delightfully spicy and filling. The alligator sausage and cheese plate was a nice appetizer but I don't think that the sausage, cheese and crackers mix very well. There is a cocktail menu which looked tempting but I did not partake. The bar staff is very cool and friendly.
Pastas, fish, gator bites, and fried oysters all super yummy!! HIGHLY recommend Vodoo pasta!!! Not a huge fan of crayfish chowder...wayyyy too salty. Other than that no regrets on a Sunday night dinner
Amazing food and service!!!
