I've driven by this place for many years and added it to my list of places to try. Eventhough the parking was challenging, when we walked in we felt welcomed. The food was okay.

If you like pub food this is your place. Low key clientele/atmosphere but with great service and quick food delivery. Only issue is the honey mustard. Fix that and 5 stars it is.

Yumm! Bacon wrapped chicken livers, French dip, onion rings, everything was delicious. Neighborhood bar vibe. 70's rock playing and our server was super sweet. Can't wait to go back. We also got ribs to go!! We didn't have reservations at Houston's at 4:30 on Tuesday.. Best thing that could have happened..

The food was delicious. Before we could finish our appetizers. They were bringing out our dinner. I will go dine in again.❤️❤️

We loooooove this place. It is an institution in Memphis and has some of the best food. We started with onion rings and fried mushrooms with horseradish sauce that was killer good.I had the grilled chicken sandwich with potato skins for a side. Friends got the hamburger and roast beef au juice. The atmosphere is cool with the lights down low. The bar is a classic neighborhood fixture. Rachel did a great job serving us as well. We can’t wait to go back.

Had a great experience here! I felt like it was a cross between a Huey's and Half shell. I ordered a redfish sandwich, the flavor was fantastic, the fish was cooked perfectly and was a decent size. Love the steak fries here too!

First: yes, parking is very limited. One handicapped spot is reserved, literally at the front door; everything else on prem is pretty tricky. Just park in the (free) large shared lot across Mendenhall to the east and use the crosswalk, or find a spot at a nearby shopping strip just to the west on Poplar, on the same side of the street, if you're there after hours.Second: this is not a fancy place by nature, but you can wear flipflops or heels if you want. Regardless, you'll get the same attentive and helpful service, with the same Christmas lights and old-school bar that's been there for my entire adult life. (They've surely replaced the lights a couple of times by now, tho, now that I count the years! Ha!)Third: generous pours on adult beverages mean that the value is there, with even top shelf not enough to cause sticker shock. Decent well brands and all the good stuff is there too.Fourth: y'all, do not sleep on this food! Very tasty, not overseasoned (a trick some places use to hide a lack of prep or real recipes), good fresh ingredients, and pretty reasonably priced. Not complicated, but plenty of variety. Goes from basic fried stuff / bar foods to a very, very good cheeseburger to some damn tasty seafood gumbo, with decadent homestyle desserts to finish (if you have room!).

Best burger and onion rings in Memphis..Fried Chicken livers are wonderful..

Great place. Would have loved to have been here in the 50s. Not sure much has changed. It’s a cool place something to check out.

The steak sandwich was incredible! I could only eat half. The onion rings were very good too. I even enjoyed the fried mushrooms and I don't like mushrooms. Everything was hot and fresh. The service was good and the environment was very cool.
