It had free parking! Clean and spacious dining room. Friendly staff. I ordered the rib plate. Five ribs with beans, Cole slaw and a roll. A lot of meat on them ribs. The sassy sauce was a nice sweet heat style sauce. They sell it by the bottle. You might want to take some home. For dessert we tried the peach cobbler and ice cream and the banana pudding. The banana pudding was great. The meal was a little on the expensive side for the portion size. Overall a great place to eat. I will be back.
Great place! BB-Q was really good! I would 100% come back here next time I vist memphis. Not a huge place, and it looked to be a couple owned place. There was a lovely lady serving, and who seemed to be her partner cooking in the back. So that wait is a little longer then normal for places but for how long we waited it was worth it. My ribs were amazing and I cleaned the bones. Over all very happy with the experience and to support a small business.
Fabulous food. We will definitely go back. The fresh out of the oven peach cobbler was amazing! The potato salad was so creamy.
I’m from Texas and I cook. I make really good ribs. I am disappointed in most ribs in restaurants. These were the way ribs should be made. They were smoked to perfection. Had the perfect pull off the bone. If the meat falls off the bone it’s over cooked and been steamed in a bag or wrapped in foil for hours. These were just good all over. Good beans. Sherry, the waitress slash cashier was wonderful. Accommodating and just as nice as a person could be. Give this place a try. You won’t be sorry
I visited this place in the weekend to celebrate the birthday of a friend. We were a bit late for the lunch. It was almost 2 pm, and still there were a few people finishing up. There was a party celebrating graduation, with a bunch of friends and family going on there. So the place was busy, however not fully packed. The server was nice and welcoming. We ordered a big platter with ribs, catfish and pulled pork. It cane with fries and beans. We ordered the collard greens and hush puppies on top of it, separately. And they charges almost 5$ for each additional sides. OMG! Although the place was not very crowded, the food took a while to arrive. Everything was super hot and fresh. The catfish was terrific. The pulled pork was great. All the sides were fantastic. However, I was a bit disappointed with the ribs. Absolutely I have had much tender, juicy, and smoky ribs earlier, someplace else, right in the Memphis. Maybe because of such good reviews I had much expectations about the ribs at thisPlace! Or, it was just an accident. We were on the bad ribs day! Overall the meal was nice and quite filling for both of us. The fried catfish and the hush puppies hit the spot perfectly.
The people were so kind and for that reason alone I feel bad about posting this review. But as a visitor from California who drove to Memphis TN I owe it to others who make this trek to share my true opinions. I ordered the beef brisket dinner with up up charge for potato salad and mac and cheese. The max and cheese was bland and tasteless. This is not soul food mac and cheese but an off brand Kraft mac. It taste like a season less noodle and bechamel sauce. Disgusting was the word that came to mind on first bite. The potato salad was super sweet. I’m not sure if someone went overboard on the sugar or if miracle whip was used. The texture was perfect but it was alarmingly sweet. The beef brisket serving was small but well seasoned and delicious. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend. $26 for the pictured plate and a dinner roll.
This a cozy place - a hidden gem. I visit here while on spring break and I'm glad I did. The bbq and catfish are delicious. BBQ was tender and melt in your mouth. This place was so good we visit again the next day. The peach cobbler is so good reminds me of how my mom made it. Customer service is great.
This place was close to our hotel. Right downtown. We walked into a nice Memphis style BBQ RESTURUANT.Which had great food. And the best service.
If I could give this wonderful BBQ restaurant a 30 star review I would. Even my 11 year old said this is the best multiple times. From the ribs, to the brisket sandwich (jumbo of course), to the pork nachos, to the banana pudding… it was exceptional! My husband is a chef and he said and I quote “these are the best ribs I have ever eaten”But most importantly the friendly service of the staff is unmatched to anywhere we have eaten in Memphis! This gem of a restaurant is a must visit whether you are visiting Memphis or live here. We will be back!!! Thank you Sherry and staff. You did not disappoint and I could tell our food was made with love ❤️
Stopped by this place on our way from Maryland to Texas and we was not DISAPPOINTED!We ordered the Tony platter, peach cobbler, pork nachos and side of collards. Everything was delicious ?. Our waitress was so friendly and was doing it all hostess, waitress and bus girl. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in MEMPHIS!
