I had breakfast in the Waffle House located at 119A Cedar Lane, Knoxville, TN at approximately 10:00 AM on the morning of May 12, 2022. I was alone so I sat in chair at the counter. The following is a summary of what caused the one-star rating:1. The attitude of the gentleman who took my order was somewhatrude.2. When my ham and cheese omelet was presented it was pretty mucha pile of eggs.3. I found a slice of mushroom (I hope) in the omelet.4. A female server began placing clean silverware in the binsimmediately after counting paper money. No gloves or handwashing.5. The staff in general was not friendly. No staff member smiled at anytime. When I got up to leave I spoke with another customer at the counter and she confirmed that she had also failed to observe anyone smile.

Went there Saturday morning around 10:30. Very busy, it was Saturday morning at 10:30. Why wouldn't it be? I haven't been to a Waffle House in decades. The wait was what it was. Obviously the crowd was indicative of demand. We really didn't wait that long to be seated and did have option immediately to sit at the counter. Service was instantaneous upon arriving at our table. Waitress got our drink orders and gave us menus, with our orders being taken at drink delivery. Food was shortly thereafter in front of us offering nice portions and a great dinner meal. I would happily go back!

Was in Knoxville for work. Walked next door from the hotel to get something to eat. Walked in and sat down, then one of the waitresses yells at me they are only doing to go orders. I asked then why are people sitting inside eating (5 people). I was told they were short staffed (2waitresses and 1 cook). My wife retired from Waffle House after 32yrs and 3 people ran 3rd shift on Friday and Saturday, this was on a Tuesday night.

They got my order wrong, but fixed it promptly. It tasted fine, however my grandmother told me she didn't like her waffle at all.

After a few stressful days where I basically lived off granola bars, Waffle House was the cure for what ailed me. I kept it simple: waffle and double hash browns, scattered, smothered and covered. The young woman who took my order also prepared it. When another staffer asked me how it was, I replied it was delicious and ‘my compliments to the chef,’ which she shared with the young woman. This started a string of fun competitive talk among the staff. (I take it she didn’t often prepare the food as another man soon took over to prepare a large order. It was mesmerizing, watching him work). Asked a neighbor at the counter about the weather, was called ‘young man’ at one point (ha!) and had a warm, wonderful experience. Stop by Waffle House on Cedar Lane because, and I use this term lovingly, it’s the perfect ‘greasy spoon.’

Service was fast and quick. Cheerful bunch of employees. Me and my family love us some waffle house.

Not only was the place filthy with food and dirty dishes stacked everywhere, the food was awful. Our bacon was undercooked and eggs were cold. The first version of grits that was given was in large clumps. The second version was swimming in so much butter it made me sick. Will not go back to this location.

Always love Waffle House! The poor girl was clearly having a rough night but was still great! Her coworker, the cook, was on a break so she made both of our meals & very quickly! Always quality food & service!

I normally hate waffle House, but I was hungry for some eggs over easy last night. They were the best I have ever had. Even the grits were good and I don't like the way they make their grits. It was the cook who made it work. I'll be back tomorrow.

The staff was doing a great job at keeping up with the holiday rush. Our waitress was humorous and super fantastic. Had a great time. It was also a place to take your families and saw many of them there. Way to go Waffle House!!
