Another Knoxville gem nestled in the outskirts. An almost country diner feel. First visit in a little while. Huge improvements have been made to the inside and the food. Large selection of appetizers, sandwiches and includes breakfast! Great selection of tasty ice cream sundaes.During our most recent visit, tables were cleaned several times and the random table we chose was very clean as well. Restrooms are available and are kept clean. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Everyone seems to enjoy working at this location. Prices are very good for the proportions of quality food and service we experienced.
I'm sorry, I try to never give a survey to anyone, However, when I have, it has always leaned positive. THAT'S NOT THE CASE FOR TWISTER'S! Two of our dearest friends took us for desert, but we ended up eating lunch. I had cat fish, hush puppies, & corn fritters. I bit into the hush puppy and batter came out the other end (liquid). I waited 20 minutes before I found someone to show and she said, oh well. My corn fritters and catfish were the same, undercooked. We thought we could save the day with desert. But she came out and told us there was no vanilla ice cream. So we adapted and had Hot Fudge Cake with chocolate ice cream. They brought us a 1 gallon bowl full of cake and chocolate ice cream (each one of us got a gallon & cake). . This was the worst food and service I have had in 30-years. Yes, I still gave an $8.00 tip for a $40.00 total bill (20%). Please save your time and money and eat somewhere besides Twisters.
Terribly disappointed! My Family and I ate there in the dining room on May 23, 2022 at approximately 5:30 PM based on a recommendation from my child’s principal. They were not busy at all, only 3 other people eating when we arrived but the service was very slow and the food was cold even though I saw at least 4 employees “working”. I felt the food was somewhat overpriced considering the quality ($8.54 before tax, for a child’s grilled cheese sandwich and a sweet tea. A regular cheeseburger, hotdog and a coke for $16.13 before tax) plus there is a 3.5% up charge on top of that if you don’t pay with cash. How sneaky is that? Especially in these post pandemic times where paying in cash is not the norm. The sweet tea tasted watery and not very sweet at all, almost bitter, but that’s just my opinion. We sat at a table ( our receipt said it was table 13) with a clear view into a food storage room with the door remaining open our entire visit. As we were eating, I witnessed a male employee go into the storage room, open a large bucket of pickles and proceeded to fill a glass jar ( he brought the jar with him into the storage room) with the pickles using his BARE HANDS, scoop after scoop with NO GLOVES. So whatever contaminants/germs/dust/whatever was on the handle and the outside of the lid as well as what germs etc. may have been on the employee’s hands to begin with is now inside the big pickle bucket as well as inside the glass pickle jar. Then we all (family of 4) saw a bug crawl across the littered unswept floor and into that same food storage room with the pickles. We’re not certain as to what kind of bug it was but it looked like a roach or “water bug” to us. At this point, I just spit my food out and we got up and left (after paying, of course. $55.08 to be exact, not including tip.) Also, as we walked up to the counter to pay we saw a female employee walking around eating with her hands in the food prep area. Isn’t that a health violation? The craziest thing though, as we were walking out we saw a health department score hung on the wall… it was 100 ! How??? Tipped off/Paid off/ related to or friends with the inspector, perhaps? However they obtained that score is a mystery to me from what I experienced there. I’ve been to another restaurant with a 100 score and wasn’t disappointed there. No matter what time of day or night I went, it was always clean and the food was always good and fresh.Long story short, my experience there has left me with some important takeaways:1. DON’T eat the pickles !!2. My faith in health department scoring has been severely damaged.Hopefully their ice cream is better than their food, but I’m definitely NOT going back to try it..?
I don't mind paying higher prices if food is amazing. The fries need an overhaul. They are not worth the money or calories. The onion rings however are AMAZING!!
I ordered one burger in the drive thru. I pulled forward to wait. Burger was $9 for an unseasoned patty and mediocre soggy toppings. I waited 25 min for one cold burger. I could have driven to Pals in Jeff City in that time frame. If the new North Knoxville location will be anything like what I and others have experienced it will not last long.
Great food and friendly service! They have a large selection of food for adults and children. They specialize in ice cream/desserts that you have to try! They have dine in, walk-up window, and a drive through. If you are in the area, you have to try this place!
First time here .... Had some great ice cream! The food menu looks promising and I am sure I will bring my family back here to eat. Pricing is very reasonable as well. Definitely recommend.
This place is awesome!! I got a bacon egg and cheese on white with a tomato. It's home cookin and delicious
The best Ice cream hands down, not to mention the food. Everytime we go it's either breakfast and lunch and both are "To Die For". The biscuits melt in your mouth and so light and fluffy, the omelets, "Let's just leave it at WOW". Come hungry because you won't leave with both. The meals are that big! And so is the ice cream....You don't want to miss this Gem of a place to Eat. Love Love Love me some Twisters
Unimpressive looks from the outside, but the food is great! Large, tasty portions, reasonable prices and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?? We'll definitely come again if we're in the area.
