We went on a Wednesday evening when I would expect them to be a little slower. The restaurant was about half full. The food seemed fresh, well prepared and quite flavorful. We had the fried shrimp and calamari appetizer. It was fresh, well prepared and tasty, not overly chewy like you get in a lot of restaurants not on the coast.I had the Chop House burger with french fries, it was cooked as I asked and brought to the table hot. The tomato and onion was fresh and the lettuce still had some crunch. The interior reminds me of a 30 year old upscale dinner club that has been allowed to fade. They need more or brighter lighting. They need to address the aged look of the chairs, worn edges and upholstery. Overall it is predominantly brown. There is nothing hip or current about the decor. We were seated right away. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Our food was prepared quickly and brought to the table without delay.Overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

My favorite place to grab a great meal when I'm visiting Knoxville!! My favorite is the Seafood Fettuccine! The service is always amazing as well!

This is a good restaurant. The service was good. The mixed drinks were very tasty. My wife and I shared the two pork chop dishes. I am glad that the apple sauce was in its own bowl. The chops were good, but the petite chops could have been taken off the grill sooner. I would like to make a suggestion of having a wider variety of pork on the menu and take off the many beef and chicken recipe’s. Thanks for a good meal

We ordered only 3 dishes for dinner and waited like FOREVER for them to come out. The restaurant was not even busy at all. It was so cold inside that I felt like I was in the freezer. When the foods came out and we started eating them right away, but everything tasted so cold and disgusting to us. It was truly my WORST experience I had on an EXPENSIVE meal. We spent more than $131 plus $15 tip when our foods were way more AWFUL than McDonald's. That was our first and LAST time coming there to this restaurant! ??

Met friends for drinks & dinner. When we were being seated at a small table, we noticed 5 booths available and asked the hostess for a booth. She indicated that she had to "ask for permission" to seat us ther. After asking another hostess, she refused our request. With 5 booths and no one waiting to be seated. There were also empty booths/tables all over the restaurant. As we were planning to leave, our server came up to the rescue. Treasure, our server, seated us at a booth. That was just the beginning of the excellent service she provided. The food was great. She was attentive, but unobtrusive. But most of all, she was friendly and upbeat while providing excellent service. Kudos to Treasure! We'll be back soon to sit in a booth in her section.

We came in tonight with a group of 4 around an hour and a half before closing time. The restraunt was not busy, and we got sat right away. We sat and waited for a server to check on us for around 10-15 mins before we finally went and asked the hostess where our server was as we were thirsty. The hostess had to get our drinks because I'm assuming she couldn't find our waitress. Finally the waitress shows up around 5-8 mins of more waiting to get our order. At this point we are not happy at all, but we were still mannered and polite. Anyways we all order and just wait for the appetizer to be brought out. The bread was stale and hard as a brick. The appetizer itself was fine. The prime rib was overcooked, but the rest of the food was great. However, we had to ask multiple times for more refills as our waitress never checked on us. Luckily there was another guy who came and got our drinks, and did more for us then our waitress.Bottom line: It's unacceptable at this price point to have the service( or lack thereof) that we had. Also a customer shouldn't have to ask for basic things such as silverware, drink refills, and where our waitress is in the first place. Anyways... Thank you to the guy who came and checked on us when she didn't, your AMAZING.

Group of 12 went there on a Sunday evening at 5:30 to beat the rush. Had reservations so we went right in. The place is not too noisy, staff was great and very attentive. They brought out bread for the table, very chewy. I normally love buttered fancy bread but this one was weird. They would do better to make fancy cornbread or something. We had the deviled eggs and onion rings as appetizers, they were both good but I don't like sweet pickles in my deviled eggs. The honey mustard dip for the onion rings was delicious. We all ordered steaks except for 1 salmon. Everyone at the table was in agreement that all our steaks were overcooked. I order medium all the time and this barely had any pink left and no juice, very dry. And there was not really a flavor to the steak, so ask for steak sauce or something. This was my first time here and I wasn't that impressed. For $30, I could have grilled it better at home myself.

Great experience great food and fast and friendly highly recommend yountake the time to check them out

It was just by chance we came upon The Chop House while spending the night in Knoxville. We had an amazing meal and the staff (Nathan did a great job) was wonderfully attentive without hovering. I ordered the big pork chop and the house salad. The salad was delicious and fresh, definitely not “bag salad” (I suggest the Champaign vinaigrette dressing~ Yum). The pork chop was thick, juicy and piping hot. My husband had the sirloin steak, cooked to perfection and a chopped salad— both which he thoroughly enjoyed. Looking forward to our next trip through Knoxville and another stop at The Chop House.

We just had the most incredible evening at the Fountain City Chophouse mainly because of the attentiveness of our server Savanna and her baby, actually along for the ride... She was kind and very knowledgeable about steak temperatures. My husband loved the crabcakes, too. She is a major asset to the serving staff!
