The food was great and the prices were reasonable. The service was good and friendly. The portion sizes weren't bad, although perhaps a touch on the small side. The atmosphere was I guess what you might call "trendy", but not really my style. The building looks a bit too much like a fast food restaurant on the outside and inside. I think that's what the kids like these days or something.
We've never been disappointed in Tandur. The food is fresh, delicious, and served promptly. The restaurant interior is modern and cheerful, the staff always helpful. Their ToastTab call-in works well.
Absolutely enjoyed it. Took a first timer and he was offered every sauce to sample. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the different dishes. The Tandur ovens were so pretty. Outside seating available for those beautiful days
The food is good. We couldn’t find the authentic Indian taste. The chicken Biryani bowl had the pita bread and hummus combo too and the Hummus is really delicious. Ambience is too good. The staffs are really welcoming. Ample parking spots and very Near to Mall. Be careful to take the correct turn.We took the earlier turn and went to a different parking lot ?
I’ve been here a couple times and been intimidated by the menu I don’t understand well, however the staff is always happy to explain things and help you to decide. Having said that, today’s experience was superior. I was greeted by Lilly, a young lady with a ready smile and excellent knowledge of the ingredients in the menu items (I am a picky eater). She told me all about Tandur’s new items that are American favorites, tacos and nachos….Indian style. They were both delicious and not intimidating at all. I might even be able get my hubs to try it now. I usually have the chicken vindaloo but that is a big meal and the tacos or nachos would be a good size for a lighter but still filling choice. No matter what you choose, the food is good, the staff is always approachable, the service is pretty fast and the atmosphere is very nice.
Placed an order for delivery, and for $55 I would expect more than leftover amounts of food. Barely enough for two people. Hair/fiber was discovered in the lamb marsala, and the tikka fries were $8.50! Maybe in person dining is a different experience, but this encounter alone will keep me from going back.
I absolutely love this place. the food is amazing, straight up. the chicken ???so delicious, and the korma sauce is my favorite. I love the radio that you guys have too, I was eating in there last night with my fiance happy as ever eating my yummy food and doin a little happy dance to the music that was on ?? my favorite place in Knox. I enjoy making Indian food at home so I have a lot of respect for the food and it's flavors, so very good job to everyone who works there!
First time here. 2.5 stars would not recommend to a friend. Go to sitar insteadI don't know how to reply to the owners reply so I'll just edit my post. I think this is poorly done fast casual. The curries we're watered down, in flavor and in consistency. The rice was over hydrated too. The lamb was overdone and dry. The naan was good. In summer tandur doesn't compare to other Indian restaurants in the area. The price they're asking for their food puts them in a league where they're not competitive.
Nice place to be with friends…. They have got the giant tandoor oven too but I didn’t like the food that much. It was good but I cannot rate it perfect…. The ambiance is awesome, price reasonable.
Had the paneer coconut curry with basmati rice. My husband had the Tikka Masala with brown rice. The dishes were both good. Restaurant is clean and staff were very nice.
